Sara Aapi played ably by Savera Nadeem is the elder sister of 3 brothers. Their parents passed away early and she has spent her life raising them with love, care and razor sharp rules that are unforgiving towards any disobedience. Having said that, the character carries a subtle grey shade and one feels sympathy for a lost youth as she spent the prime years of her life tending to her younger brothers.
What’s Different
The story hits different with details that make it standout. E.g. the family runs a grocery-super store called Sara Mart and each brother runs a specific business segment within the store. Although the finances are handled by Sara aapi, she runs everything by her brothers, Adnan being the one she relies on the most. Usman, the youngest, is possibly her favourite and most pampered and Burhan, well, Burhan has a secret to hide which you will know about in the very first few episodes, so no spoilers there.
The well-managed, obedient family meets its challenge when the brothers take on wives and an organized household run by a formidable matriarch has to battle young wives who are not too much in sync with the householed rules and traditions.
Add to this, Sara Aapi’s own backstory whch will be revealed soon. How she navigates this new challenge, schools her brothers, which sister in-law is the hardest to coerce and even goes rogue on her and which one is totally with Sara Aapi is what draws audiences to the story unfolding onscreen.
Sara Aapi the drama initiated conversations on whether a matriarch should be so controlling, whether brothers should listen to their older sister who has forsaken a great deal to be with them and provide for them, and whether one should side with the brothers and their wives or Sara Aapi – the story, despite its many shades of sensational twists, keeps one engaged as the storytelling is fast-paced and nudges one to keep watching to know what happens next.
