Rang De came to an end recently, and with it concluded a story that offered viewers a mix of entertainment, just the right amount of sweet, slow-burn romance, along with a few strong narratives, classic villains, and a good number of life lessons for the audiences to take notes.

Rang De: 3 Life Lessons Learnt From The Drama
Rang De: 3 Life Lessons Learnt From The Drama

Rang De, presented by GEO TV and 7th Sky Productions, tells the story of Dua, a young and spirited girl living with her mother and grandmother, who run their own small business, and Ahad, a young man who manages an antique shop alongside his mother, Samina. The drama is penned by Rukhsana Nigar and directed by Syed Ahmad Kamran, featuring a talented cast including Sabeena Farooq, Shahzad Sheikh, Samina Ahmed, Sunita Marshall, Sohail Sameer, Azfar Rehman, and more. It is produced by Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi under the banner of 7th Sky Entertainment.

Rang De offered a variety of high points in the story; however, here are 3 life lessons learnt from the drama as a whole, and one we wish viewers to take note from!

1. Appearances Can Be Deceptive – Don’t Ignore The Red Flags

Nudrat, Dua, and Dadi were convinced that Tauqeer was a good man – surprise, surprise, he was nothing of the sort. But there were small things that convinced them, like helping Dadi, being extremely lovable, caring, and helpful towards them. However, were his actions really guided by sincerity? Not for a second. That’s what made audiences think that it’s okay to let go of appearances and rethink the person. When someone is too good to be true, it’s okay to doubt them at times, so that it doesn’t really cost you something or put you at risk later. The same happened with Azir too. The drama also highlighted how people with ill intentions often hide behind charm and fake concern to gain trust easily. Sometimes, paying attention to subtle red flags can save you from much bigger problems later on. What made this lesson stand out even more was how realistically the drama showed emotional manipulation — people often ignore warning signs simply because they want to believe in the goodness of someone.

2. Before Saying Yes, Do a Background Check – Every Girl’s Right!

Before Nudrat said yes to Tauqeer and Dua to Azir, they did not try to find out more about them. The question is – why? Dadi was so mindful of things, so why did she not investigate Tauqeer in the first place? And so was Dua — very smart, knew what to say and when to say it — but she didn’t bother finding out more about Tauqeer or Azir; their whereabouts, reputation etc. Even when Tauqeer went missing for 2 days, they still believed his fake stories. No one really thought of collecting information about both guys, and that made us realize that it’s important — really important — that when you’re making a decision, especially a decision to marry someone, you need to conduct a thorough investigation about them.

All the girls and families who watched, please take notes. Dua could have asked someone to help her find out about Azir and Tauqeer, and she could’ve found out about Azir already being married, but that was never an option for her, Dadi, or Nudrat either – a sign that proper background checks might help safeguard your daughter’s happiness and that it is her HER right that you stay informed about her potential life partner.

3. Women Can Survive, (and even thrive) On Their Own

The drama started when Nudrat, Dadi, and Dua were excelling in their dyeing/clothing business, then came the marriage, and the drama ended by showing us how these three women have the resilience to go on, all they need is each other — Nudrat and Dua leading the business.

Two messages stood out: one, that it is should be totally acceptable to consider the chance of remarrying even if you have grown-up children. And second, that not having a man by your side is also okay — you can thrive alone too. The story beautifully highlighted how women can rebuild themselves even after heartbreak and difficult experiences. It also reminded viewers that financial independence and self-confidence can help women stand strong through every phase of life.

Rang De managed to keep the audiences engaged from start to finish. Besides the storyline, one more reason for the drama being successful was the casting. Tauqeer and Azir, played by Sohail Sameer and Azfar Rehman, were classic negative characters that started off strong and stayed that way till the end — they did not turn into angels. Instead, they maintained the same shades of character till the end, which made it a bit relatable and believable too. Samina Ahmed as Dadi played the role of a wise and sensible woman perfectly. Nudrat was the kind of character that made audiences sympathize with her throughout the drama. Meanwhile, Dua and Ahad, played by Sabeena Farooq and Shehzad Sheikh, won over audiences once again with their characters and on-screen chemistry after Tere Mere Sapnay.
