Lately, Tamasha Ghar is starting to feel less about what is happening in the present and more about who will make it to the Top 5.
It appears as though the contestants are looking well into the future with their alliances and voting, hoping to determine who will make it through to the next round of eliminations. Although this may very well be true, it is also detracting from the aspects of the program that have kept it entertaining in the past. The last few days have felt noticeably slower, with fewer moments that genuinely make us want to sit down and watch what happens next.
The problem is not necessarily that there is no drama. There is plenty of it. But the energy feels different. Earlier, even the smallest interaction could turn into a proper Tamasha moment. Now, so much of the conversation revolves around strategy, safety and the Top 5 that some contestants appear to be playing for the end rather than living in the house. With the competition getting closer to its final stretch, perhaps everyone is becoming more careful. But ironically, that carefulness may be exactly what is making the show feel less entertaining.
No One Seems Interested In The Tasks Anymore, Not Even Babrik
One of the biggest changes we have noticed lately is the attitude towards the tasks. Tasks have always been a major part of Tamasha because they give contestants a chance to compete, strategise, annoy each other and, sometimes, completely lose their patience. But recently, even when a task is happening, the excitement around it does not feel the same. Contestants seem more interested in what the outcome will mean for their position in the game than actually enjoying the task itself. Even Babrik, who has consistently been one of the more serious players when it comes to tasks and strategy, seems to have lost some of that earlier energy.
This is interesting because Babrik’s approach to the game has usually been very task focused. He has repeatedly tried to understand the rules, find loopholes and work out how an activity can benefit his position. His conversation with Dr Zee last night have also shown that he is still paying close attention to the people around him, with Tamasha itself even highlighting how well Babrik understands everyone in the house. But there is a difference between playing a task strategically and looking genuinely excited to play it. Right now, the latter seems to be missing from the house.
And perhaps that is because everyone knows what is coming next. Another unsafe contestant, another voting discussion, another round of figuring out who is likely to survive.
Is Samiya Hijab The Real Manipulator?
Samiya’s gameplay has become particularly interesting over the last few days, but not necessarily because she is simply “playing smart.” The bigger question is how much credibility does she actually have left? In the recent voting discussions, Samiya was trying to convince Hamza to vote for Dr Zee, yet when it came to her own vote, she did not vote for Zee. That immediately raises the question: was she genuinely trying to save Zee, or was she simply trying to influence Hamza’s vote while keeping her own options open? We have seen Samiya carefully move between different people and different groups throughout the season, and this latest situation makes that pattern even harder to ignore.
And then came the task. Before it began, Samiya had apparently reached an understanding with Babrik, Laila and Dr Zee that they would not target one another. Yet once the task started, she went after Babrik anyway. The interesting part is that this was not necessarily a random change of mind. Some viewers have interpreted the move as a calculated way of making it look like she was no longer aligned with Babrik, Laila and Zee, while simultaneously shifting the other group’s attention towards them. But that is exactly where the credibility question comes in. If you give someone your word before a task and then break that understanding as soon as the game begins, what exactly are your alliances worth? Playing the game is one thing, but repeatedly telling people what they want to hear and then doing something else makes it difficult for the audience to understand where Samiya genuinely stands.
Maybe that is Samiya’s game. She appears to understand that in a house this close to the finale, keeping every door open can be more useful than committing completely to one side. There is even recent viewer discussion describing her as someone who can switch between groups while maintaining relationships with both sides.
Dr. Zee Khan Has Lost His Spark, But Why?
Dr Zee was one of those contestants who could make even an ordinary conversation feel like something was about to happen. Whether he was arguing with someone, joking around, getting involved in another contestant’s issue or simply reacting dramatically to a situation, there was always a sense that Zee would give us something to talk about. That spark is still there occasionally, but lately it feels much less consistent.
Part of the reason could simply be the changing dynamics of the house. Earlier, Dr Zee was constantly involved in conflicts and alliances, including his clashes with Samiya and Esra. But now that the competition is becoming more focused on survival and the Top 5, the same personality that once created spontaneous entertainment can sometimes seem like it is being overshadowed by the bigger game happening around him.
And that may be the biggest question for Dr Zee right now: where did the carefree Zee go? Has he become too conscious of the game, the audience and his position inside the house? Or has the house simply changed around him? Because the Dr Zee we saw earlier did not seem to need a reason to create a moment. He simply did. Now, when every move appears to have a consequence attached to it, that natural unpredictability seems to have faded a little.
We want to see the old Dr. Zee back, please. Just with a slightly lower voice pitch this time!
As for this week, Rabiya and Samiya are safe so far. With Badshah also hinting that there could be two contestants going home from now on, the elimination game is about to get even more interesting.
