Jinn Ki Shadi Unki Shadi has opened doors for the comedic-romantic horror genre, and it did so with near perfection. Just in the final episode, the narrative slipped a little. The last episode felt rushed, and the fight scene between jinns and humans came across as a bit amateurish. But then it made us forgive the lapse by giving fans a happy ending between Ali and Khushi and a cute wedding night scene. Can we really complain?

When we say the face-off between jinns and humans felt amateurish, we don’t want to undermine the effort that has been put in by the creators. We appreciate the hard work, the intention, and the risk the team took in giving us this often tough to execute genre. But for future reference, we want to point out that this must also be executed better so it doesn’t undermine the contributions of previous episodes.
Why didn’t Jazim use his magical powers to completely overpower Ali? Throwing him on the ground and trampling him with his foot seemed a bit odd for a jinn. Maybe he just wanted to feel the power of crushing Ali under his feet.
The scene was nicely planned, but the execution could have been better. When Jazim threatens to kill Chamki unless Azar drops the dagger, we really wondered what Azar would do next. He was cornered. But then Ali comes into action and attacks Jazim from behind. This was an interesting move.
How Nadia and her mom suddenly switched from being evil to good people was again lost upon us. Because till the second-last episode, they were planning to team up with Azar and destroy Ali and his family. That sudden change of heart was confusing and shouldn’t have been let go by the team.
The question we’ve all been asking since the beginning: Can jinns and humans marry each other? We were hoping we’d get the answer. The drama doesn’t answer this question, but it does acknowledge that the audience must be asking it. Instead of turning a blind eye, it becomes part of the conversation and inserts the question into the script, through Zara and Changaiz Chacha’s conversation. Zara is also asking if they can have children? The narrative doesn’t pretend that this is not a possible issue to consider. Since it’s a fantasy genre, one can accept that the drama chooses not to answer and leaves it to the audience to find their own answers — or just enjoy the experience as a drama.
Jinn Ki Shadi Unki Shadi ends by showing Azar and Asad’s families becoming friends and relatives. It also gives us a cute and funny scene of planning the wedding and discussing various details. It was definitely a reminder of conversations happening around us during this wedding season — what to gift each other, how many guests to invite, etc.
Ali and Khushi’s conversation about Khushi asking Ali to sleep with her on a tree was hilarious, and also her asking if it’s a serious issue that snakes bite human beings. So they both clearly have a lot to catch up on.
Shout-out to the DOP of the drama. The scene where Chamki and Azar are talking outside was beautifully and aesthetically shot. There is light in the background but otherwise the frame is all dark — only the silhouettes are visible. The visual carried an eerie calmness and was aesthetically pleasing at the same time.
The drama gave Ali and Khushi fans the ultimate scene to adore and enjoy: the wedding night. It kept it funny while staying with the tone of the drama. It made us all smile and also wonder if Jinn Ki Shadi Unki Shadi Season 2 is on the cards?
Ali and Asad manage to release their ancestors from the prison where they were kept for so long by Azar. Azar also apologises, which was definitely a new one.
