Here’s what Main Manto Nahi Hoon had us thinking while watching this week’s episodes.

Half the drama was spent convincing Manto that he loves Mehmal, and now this week was all about convincing Manto that he needs to take a stand against injustice. And we can’t help but ask — why, oh why?
Manto turns out to be the weakest link. He fails to do anything until Ms. Maria convinces him. Why couldn’t there be better character progression or a proper character arc for Manto? Why can’t Manto think for himself even after multiple episodes?
Why couldn’t the creators edit out the college class scene in the recent episode when it has no bearing on the storyline? Why show something that’s getting a lot of backlash and certainly inappropriate? What does it say about our students — they couldn’t be bothered about Ifrah when she disappeared initially, but they’re suddenly so invested in the Manto–Mehmal romance? The entire concept feels messed up and questionable.
Siraj and Bin Yamin turn out to be the weakest mafia heads of influential families. We truly wonder who actually committed those 271 murders. Bin Yamin is totally controlled by Khadija — it was his daughter who gave him the idea of kidnapping Shamraiz.
Siraj is another disappointing character who cannot take a single independent action or solid decision. He’s perfectly okay giving away his daughter to Farhad — a harasser and a murderer. Why couldn’t he locate Shamraiz’s whereabouts? They’re supposed to be the biggest goons in the city, yet they have no idea where to even begin. Is the drama telling us they have planted no spies within each other’s families?
Why do we not run our scripts by script doctors?
Shamraiz and Mehmal’s conversation… another big question mark! How is he okay letting his sister sacrifice her life and future with Farhad, rather than taking action and doing something about it now that he’s out?
And the list goes on and on…
