If you enjoy watching two people who can’t stand each other eventually fall in love, these three Pakistani dramas are worth watching.

Though the trope usually revolves around all-too-predictable arguments and forced chemistry, some Pakistani dramas have actually managed to make these equations interesting. Whether it is the clash between two dominant individuals or an equation where two people just cannot agree on anything, the transformation in their equation can prove to be just as enjoyable as any love story.
This Throwback Thursday, check out three Pakistani dramas that gave us memorable haters-to-lovers stories.
Kuch Ankahi: From Bickering To Butterflies
Kuch Ankahi starring Sajal Aly, Bilal Abbas Khan, Sheheryar Munawar, Qudsia Ali, and Vaneeza Ahmed, revolves around Aaliya and Salman, two strong-willed individuals always at loggerheads with each other. While Aaliya is outspoken and strong-headed enough to speak up for herself and support her family, Salman too is an opinionated man who stands up against her all the time. The frequent arguments and different perspectives of both Aaliya and Salman make it look improbable for the two to get together. But as their lives get entangled, their fights slowly take the back seat and give way to understanding and affection. Apart from the development in their relationship, Kuch Ankahi focuses on family relations, disputes over property, society, marriage, and the issues revolving around women. So, with all the bickering and banter between Aaliya and Salman, Kuch Ankahi is one to watch not just for the entertainment, but for the meaningful conversations and social issues woven into its story.
Kuch Ankahi is written by Muhammad Ahmed and directed by Nadeem Baig. It is produced by Kashf Foundation in collaboration with Six Sigma Plus Productions.
Suno Chanda: Two People, Endless Arguments And An Unexpected Romance
With Iqra Aziz and Farhan Saeed in the lead roles, Suno Chanda revolves around Jiya and Arsal – two cousins who cannot even be near each other for a few minutes without fighting with one another. Despite the fact that Jiya and Arsal’s families have decided that they will marry each other in future, neither Jiya nor Arsal have any intentions of marrying each other as they have other dreams in life. All their arguments, fights, teasing and irritating ways make their relationship quite unromantic at the beginning. Yet with the passage of time and their changing attitude towards one another, their equation changes into something entirely different. Suno Chanda is filled with romance, family drama, humor and a story of two individuals who take a very long time to realize the importance of each other in their life. So, if you love constant comebacks, playful jabs and two people who are always at each other’s throats, Suno Chanda is definitely one to watch if you haven’t already!
Suno Chanda is written by Saima Akram Chaudhary and directed by Ahsun Talish. It is produced by MD Productions.
Dil Lagi:
Starring Mehwish Hayat and Humayun Saeed, Dil Lagi follows Anmol and Mohid, two headstrong people who find themselves caught in a complicated relationship. Anmol is fiercely independent and refuses to give in to Mohid’s persistent advances, while Mohid is equally determined to win her over. Their relationship is filled with arguments, stubbornness and clashes as neither is willing to back down. As their lives become more intertwined, however, their equation begins to change, with their initial hostility giving way to more complicated feelings. Alongside the romance, Dil Lagi also explores family rivalries, social expectations, power and the choices women make when faced with pressure from those around them.
Dil Lagi is written by Faiza Iftikhar and directed by Nadeem Baig. It is produced by Six Sigma Plus Productions.
