What Does Vaneeza Ahmed Think of Gen Z? Find Out Here!

Vaneeza started her career as a model, appearing in many fashion campaigns and magazine covers. Later, she moved into acting and quickly became known for her strong and natural performances. She has proved her talent in many different roles and continues to impress her fans.

Right now, we’re seeing her as Nazish in Tum Larkay Bhi Na. We got the chance to sit down with her and talk about the drama, her journey from modeling to acting, and much more.

Here’s a peek into our conversation!

This article is an excerpt from the YouTube interview!

Vaneeza Ahmed on the Idea of Marriage

During the conversation, Vaneeza Ahmed spoke openly about how her views on marriage have changed over time. She shared that for a long time, she was more focused on work than on marriage. Being independent was very important to her, and she always felt that she could achieve the things she wanted on her own without depending on a man.

She also mentioned that many women today feel the same way. According to her, more and more women believe they don’t need a man to accomplish their goals and can manage things by themselves. She feels this shift can be both good and bad.

Looking back at her own marriage, she reflected that the balance wasn’t really there. She felt that she never got the chance to experience her softer, feminine side because she was always used to handling everything on her own. No one really took care of her in a way that allowed that side of her to come out.

She explained that when someone is always used to being strong and independent, it can become difficult to know how to react when someone else wants to do things for them. For her, that balance between independence and allowing someone to care for you is important.

Vaneeza Ahmed on Gen Z

When asked what surprises her about Gen Z, Vaneeza Ahmed admitted that she often finds it hard to fully understand the younger generation. She shared that she is actually experiencing it closely at home, as her own children belong to an even younger group – Gen Alpha.

She explained that her daughters mostly see her simply as “mama,” and for a long time they didn’t really know about her career. Since they grew up in Islamabad and were quite young, they were never very aware of the work she had done earlier in fashion and entertainment. To them, she was just their mom – someone they jokingly say doesn’t know much about fashion or trends.

She added that only recently her daughter has started to realize a little bit about who her mother is and what she has done. One of the reasons for this gap, she said, is that kids today don’t watch television the way previous generations did. They also didn’t grow up in the time when magazines were popular, which is where many people once saw her work.

Talking about generational differences, she laughed about how her daughter sometimes calls her “cringe.” She says she isn’t naturally very active on social media and doesn’t belong to the generation that documents everything online – like taking pictures of food or constantly posting stories. Because of that, she often ends up learning these things from her daughter.

Vaneeza Ahmed on Playing Nazish in Tum Larkay Bhi Na

Talking about her character Nazish, Vaneeza Ahmed shared that the audience will slowly begin to understand why Nazish behaves the way she does. According to her, the character has many layers, and her story reveals how women can carry deep emotional struggles that people often don’t see on the surface.

She explained that Nazish represents a woman who has spent many years in a difficult marriage. After around two decades with her husband and dealing with betrayal and emotional hurt, the character reaches a point where she begins to focus on herself. At this stage of her life, she wants to take control of her own well-being, which is why viewers see her becoming a gym instructor and prioritizing her health.

Vaneeza also pointed out that the drama touches on topics that are rarely discussed on television, including how women feel when they reach midlife and go through changes like menopause. She believes these are natural stages of life but are often treated as taboo subjects, even though they affect many women.

She added that Nazish’s past also shapes the way she behaves with her daughter. The drama shows how personal insecurities and past trauma can sometimes be passed down to the next generation. In the story, Nazish’s criticism of her daughter’s eating habits and weight reflects a larger social issue in Pakistan, where girls often grow up hearing that being overweight will affect their chances of marriage. This pressure, she said, is something many women can relate to.

At the same time, the drama also highlights the daughter’s reaction to this constant criticism, showing rebellion and emotional struggle. Vaneeza noted that such dynamics are very real in many families, where mothers may unknowingly project their own fears and experiences onto their children.
