Mareeha Safdar On How Her Experiences Have Shaped Her
“When I was homeless tou mujhay pata tha wo feeling kya hoti hai jab aapkay pass garam kapray nahi hotay, khana nahi hota, bed nahi hota sonay kay liye. Tou eventually when I got out of it or mein acha khana or rehna shuru hogayi tou mein jab bhi homeless logon ko dekhti thi tou mujhay wo feeling pata hoti thi tou mein mcdonalds pay jati thi or garam meal leti thi or mein jakay unko deti thi because mujhay pata hai itni thand mein garam meal ki kya comfort hoti hai. Every time I would see someone homeless on the street I would try to help them or yeh empathy or understanding aapko jab tak nahi hoti jab tak apnay khud experience nahi kia ho”
Mareeha explained the reason behind her feelings of empathy towards homeless people.
Her Friendship With Umer
“Shuru mein mujhay itna nahi hota tha kyun kay mein Amna kay sath hoti thi but mein dekhti thi usko mastiyan kartay huay. Meray 2 bhai or 2 behenein hein tou shuru say hi ghar pay hulla gulla and because I grew up with my older brother tou mein tomboy hoti thi bachpan mein or meri automatically boys kay saath ziada banti hai and I stay away from girls kyun kay mujhay drama nahi pasand.Uski energy itni mazay ki thi wo hulla gulla lagaye rakhta tha or hasta rehta tha tou mujhay bus pasand tha kay ghar pay aik ronak lagi rehti hai. Phir ahista ahista jab voting system shuru hua I would always vote for him beacuse I was like achi energy hai or acha insaan hai kabhi politics nahi kia. Na chahtay huay bhi like pata bhi nahi tha kis tarhan we got really close”
Mareeha spoke about how she eventually became friends with Umer Aalam.
How Did Mareeha Safdar Meet Her Fiance?
“I went for a holiday in Turkey. I had a friend who was living there and aik raat mein I went out to a place where there was some DJ playing. I was dancing tou I felt some energy behind me tou mein muri and there was this person jiski ankhein band and he was just dancing and I’m like who is this person. Mein aik dafa muri tou mein dekhrahi thi kay yeh kon hai jo meri tarhan ankhenin band karkay apni dunya mein hai. Usnay bus ankhein kholein 2 second or hum dono dekh rahay hein aik dosray ko. We didn’t talk because he barely spoke English. We danced for 20 minutes without talking. He said “what is your name” in his accent. Then he is like oh its my friends birthday tou udhar aao but I said mein apnay doston ko nahi chor rahi. Usnay bus mujhay apna Instagram dedia. After a few days we met bus shuru say we both just knew that we are meant to be together.
She revealed that she met her fiancé on a solo trip to Turkey.
