Zanjeerain dropped its latest episodes and the plot thickens without giving too much away. Catch the latest episodes review here.

It is refreshing to see a character like Torsam, who is villainous yet you can’t help but feel a bit bad for him because you know he is being manipulated into this plan. Negative characters are usually very one-dimensional, but he has layers. While Tayyab and his mamu were decorating the house for Rabeeya’s wedding, the tension was palpable. We were constantly afraid Torsam would find out and attack at any moment.
Is someone helping Zafran Khan poison Sher Dil? Who killed Gulrez after Torsam left? Or are there other forces at play?
Torsam is blinded by anger and his own insecurities. Probably the term “bad se badnam bura” applies to him. He didn’t kill those two men, but the blame falls entirely on him. Sher Dil interrogating him in front of the entire clan was clearly the breaking point. One wonders, is Sher Dil also truly honest in his emotions? Does he secretly hold a grudge against Torsam for being his stepbrother, or perhaps even look down upon him? Would he have treated Sar Buland the same way?
The Gradual Yet Emotional Connection
The build-up to Sher Dil’s potential exit is impactful. The audience has connected with him, making his imminent loss feel tragic already. The poison angle has added intriguing layers to the story. The drama has done a great job of fostering a strong feeling for Sher Dil among the audience, so that when something happens to him, viewers will feel the blow.
Why did Sher Dil address only Sar Buland—telling him he must take care of everything, while Sohrab was standing right behind him? Does he not trust Sohrab enough, or is the story hinting at the possibility of Sohrab being the bad guy as well?
While Sohrab appears quiet and supportive, he somehow casts a shadow of doubt; is he sincere, or is he involved with Zafran Khan?
The Mastermind Behind The Evil Deeds?
Is Zafran Khan the ultimate mastermind behind poisoning Sher Dil and attempting to cause a rift between Torsam and his family by attacking those people? Or is there another player trying to remove Sher Dil? The curiosity keeps you hooked.
Zafran seems to have an agenda with everyone. From Torsam to his niece, he is sincere with no one.
The drama seems to carry an ominous feel—you watch with a looming sense that something terrible is about to happen.
Positive Characters
Tayyab is probably the cutest and most endearing character. The way he calls Mudassir and pushes him to source a wedding dress for Rabeeya made the audience smile and like him even more.
One wonders why Mudassir didn’t just quietly marry Rabeeya to avoid Torsam finding out.
When Mudassir agrees to marry Rabeeya within three days, it comes across as a bit strange, but the script handles it smartly and shows a conversation between Rabeeya and Mudassir where he explains why he was willing to marry her despite all the odds.
The drama delivers some really warm moments. When Rabeeya confronts Mudassir—asking him why he’d marry her despite their status difference and knowing nothing about her—his answer is honest and pure, a refreshing departure from usual romantic stories.
While Sajal’s role as Rabeeya currently feels limited, one hopes that her character will be more fully fleshed out as the story progresses.
Sar Buland is different and wants to leave the village to live a life free of conflict, unable to see the world through the same lens as his brothers. The story turns somewhat typical here but stays refreshing thanks to the execution.
Impactful performances keep audiences invested. Every character draws attention, gently nudging viewers into the narrative, almost as if we were a part of the Zanjeerain world.
