It was an episode that marked a subtle shift in relationship. Yet one that was noticeably sweeter, cute-romantic and emotionally uplifting. While Malik Nadir still fights hard to Dismiss Rani’s case, with a new weapon up his sleeve, Nasreen and Dr. Nofil school Afzal chacha on embracing his courage, once again.
Zard Patton Ka Bunn was a lively mixture of romance and intrigue in the foreground, whilst moving the story along, pacing the plot for next episode.
Love Is In The Air
Meenu’s safe place is the tree that knows all her secrets, and this time, she sat there, not in despondency or helplessness, but simply living in the new-found feeling of being loved. Dr. Nofil’s letter to her was a clarification of his antics up the tree, a moment he knew would have troubled Meenu, as well as a declaration of love.
But what we feared most was, what if someone reads her writings? What if it falls in the wrong hands? What if Meenu and Nofil are being too reckless in love?
What Is True Love?
According to Dr. Nofil, it is when one weeps for one’s beloved – the notion itself so poetic and emotional, yet one that sinks in for not only Meenu and Nofil, but audiences as well, as they see their hero-heroine grappling with the beginnings of emotions that are too deep to be expressed entirely.
Which is why, the entire motorbike scene was just one of the best manifestations of the first whisperings of love. Dr. Nofil quietly turning off the switch, pretending his bike isn’t running, all this to be granted a few moments with Meenu, and then, deciding a 30 minutes walk is a bit much, even for a fellow in love, was really the icing on the cake, and such a treat for the romantics among us. This was a simple yet heartfelt portrayal of young love, and oh the drama is milking Sajal Aly and Hamza Sohail’s vast talents to deliver a scene that aced its way into our hearts!
The Sinister Drama In Play
But behind the love story, there is a more sinister drama in action. As Meenu’s friend wrongly implicates Dr. Nofil in a case of harassment. Malik Nadir has something in hand now that Afzal and Nasreen have bypassed his threats and Ashraf, on the other hand, has spoilt the game by divorcing Nasreen. Malik Nadir has been essayed with much subtlety by Rehan Sheikh, so much so, that we’re hoping there is a spark of lost humanity in him, that emerges somehow, at the right moment, to save the day. But for that, we have to wait and see.
The Story Moves On
The reporter and Dr. Nofil investigating the FIR and the police’s non compliance is information we need to move the story along. Will Rani get justice? Nasreen has found a safe house which is a relief, but we wonder how Nofil will extricate himself from the mess he’s in.
As always, we trust in the process, and the creators, to move the plot along, in unpredictable ways, and surprise us once more.
