Esha is a girl lost in her own world. She is not afraid to dream and desire a life of luxury and materialism. Esha – The Flawed Heroine
Esha, the heroine in “Zulm”, is not your perfect, ideal, shy and obedient girl next door, for a change. You can spot bouts of rebellion in her as she misbehaves with her mother sometimes and challenges her for being cautioned to lead a simple life. Esha lies to both her mother and Minaal to go meet her boyfriend. She skips college and when she is discovered by Minaal, very cleverly hides it through a series of false stories. This streak in her to strive for what she wants, to go for materialistic things, to want a luxurious life; can this lead her making a choice she might regret later? Or choose the wrong person for the wrong reasons?
Ajlal – Obvious Villain Vibes
Ajlal is your typical villain. He is manipulative, brutal, lethal and can do anything to get what he wants. Married to two women and treating both of them with no respect or care is a norm for him. Now he is eyeing Esha. If it is just temporary lust or does he want to marry her, has yet to be revealed in the drama. Though Asher has given a ring to Esha, is he serious about her? If yes, why hasn’t he sent his parents to her house yet? Presently, he is just showering her with expensive gifts and has swept her off her feet so her judgment is clouded and she is unable to recognize the red flags.
Minaal – Pakistani Drama Best Friends We’ve Seen Before, Too Often?
Minaal is friends with Esha just because she needs someone who will tag along with her, do her assignments and be that “yes” person who can be with her any, and every time she needs one. Minaal already suspects that Esha is up to something. Esha also seems to be the focus of the guy that Minaal is interested in, which could be something that will drive Minaal crazy and seek revenge.
Zulm’s story is not new, yet the flawed characters, the execution, and curiosity to find out what happens next, makes you keep watching the drama.
