1) Sehar’s First Audition Of Sanwari For Shaama & Interaction With Director Kamran Akbar!
“At Hum Tv’s office there was this lady Rubab who complimented me and compared me to Sajal. She also described me as chotay packet mein bara dhamaka.”
-Sehar Khan
Sehar says she skipped college to go Hum TV’s office with no hopes of getting selected. She met the director Kamran Akbar who asked her about her previous acting experience, she very truthfully replied that she had none. Further, she states that Kamran told her to say a few dialogues to see if she could act or not. So, she replied, “I could do the ones I just did with Rubab.” But Kamran firmly responded that “this is a soap, and you won’t get time to rehearse things because every day you have to do scenes spontaneously.” She says she felt bad but instantly memorized the dialogue. She then gave her audience. Kamran told her that he will let Rubab know.
2) Sehar Talks About Giving 8 Re-takes On The First Day Of Shooting Naqab Zan!
While I was crying, Adeel came to me and said, that it’s you who will come on screen, and if you look good on screen, it will be your achievement not mine. Further, Adeel said I am not your enemy and it’s my first project as well, so I want all of my actors to look professional. Adeel said he doesn’t want people to say that Saboor and Ali did a great job but this new actor wasn’t so great because she was a soap actor before.
-Sehar Khan
On Sehar’s first day of the shoot, when she delivered her dialogues, Adeel (the director) interrupted and told her to do it again. This continued for four retakes straight. She states that she thought just like Kamran Akbar, Adeel Siddiqui might not be happy to have her among the big star-cast. Nevertheless, she asked Adeel if there was an issue and he asked her to do it another four times. So, she did her first scene of Naqaab Zan after eight retakes. Sehar Khan told us that even in the second scene, everyone else got done within one take, but she was asked to do it several times. She says at that time, she felt so bad that she started crying.

Acting is like a cricket game, you should know when you are suppose to hit a four. So, I have learned how to play this game now.

When Sanwari was aired, she decided to watch it with her friends rather than family. She explains that ”we all were sitting and watching, and all of a sudden, I saw my acting and realized how bad I did.’ She further states “before my friends could make fun of me, I admitted on my own that I was not at all good.” Thus, she says that she did not like her performance in Sanwari and feels that a good actor must realize where they went wrong.
