For the past year, the world is gripped with fear, grief and sorrow, in regards to the genocide in Palestine. While politics by the West divides the narrative, influencers, celebrities and ordinary people have taken to their public platform to shed light on the atrocities and disregard of human rights in the region. A-Listers are speaking up, raising their voices for the Palestinians and we feel it necessary to amplify their voices further. Here are 7 celebrities who have raised their voice for Palestine and worked for a humanitarian cause.
1. Andrew Garfield
The Amazing Spiderman star and internet’s favorite, Andrew Garfield has spoken up against the ongoing genocide. On a recent episode of the podcast, Happy Sad Confused, he stated that the focus and attention should be on the ‘Palestinians in Gaza… that’s where our energy should be right now.’ This clip sparked the internet, becoming viral for all the right reasons. He was also one of the artists who signed the petition for a ceasefire.
2. Bryan Adams
Bryan Adams has been vocal on his stance. He has taken to X multiple times to show his support. he has answered in the form of a song as well. Additionally, in a recent concert in Basel, Switzerland, Adams, dedicated his song written for his father ‘Shine A Light‘ to the children of Gaza.

3. Bella Hadid
Hadid is of Palestinian descent and has been very clear about her stance. She has advocated for Palestine on various occasions. Earlier this year, her contract with Adidas was dropped, where she apologized to her fans for being part of a campaign that featured a sneaker from the Munich 1972 Olympics. Adidas later apologized to Hadid after she threatened legal action. Bella responded: “Palestine is not synonymous with terrorism; this advertisement unintentionally highlighted an event that does not reflect who we are…”
At Cannes, she wore a Keffiyeh styled and design dress, proudly displaying her roots. On an Instagram post she went on to say, ‘Palestine on my mind, in my blood and on my heart.’ Acing the modelling game and advocating like everyone should. People, take notes.
4. Nicola Coughlan
The Bridgerton star has shown her support by donning a pin representing her support for a ceasefire. She urged the leaders of the US and UK to ‘stop sending arms to Israel.’ She has used her social media platforms, interviews to raise awareness and urge towards an to the genocide. Meanwhile, Coughlan has helped raise $2 million for the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund’s Urgent Gaza Relief and Recovery projects.
5. The Weeknd
Abel Tesfaye, famously known as everybody’s favorite, The Weeknd has repeatedly shown his support for the Palestinian cause and the people.
Being the UN World Food Program Goodwill Ambassador, Abel has donated $2.5 million for humanitarian efforts in Gaza in December 2023, and earlier this year he had pledged to donate another whopping $2 million. Other than that, he has been vocal, showing his support and urging people to donate, by sharing links on his Instagram stories.
6. Chris Martin – Coldplay
Chris Martin of Coldplay has shown support for the people of Gaza in many ways. They have collaborated with Palestinian-Chilean artist, Elyanna, in a gesture of showing love for the culture, and respect to the people.
7. Macklemore
Macklemore has urged for unity and peace. He has openly criticized the American government in aiding Israel, giving them confidence and support. The ‘Thrift Shop‘ singer has released two songs Hind’s Hall and Hind’s Hall 2, in support of Palestine and the Pro-Palestinian protests.
What the Palestinians endure is unimaginable. The pain, the loss, the agony, is beyond what we can think of. It’s been more than a year since October 7th and years since Palestine has been under occupation. As humans, we pray for their betterment, for times the children of Palestinian lead safer, happier lives, where their parents can enjoy watching them play and grow.
If seeing the videos and pictures is difficult, we can barely imagine what the reality on ground is. We applaud them for their faith, resilience and patience and hope for an immediate ceasefire and happier days.
