Aye Ishq-e-Junoon: The episode belonged to Shuja Asad for a great performance, giving us a thrilling scene which kept us at the edge of our seat, wondering to what extent Shehroze will go.

Aimen’s character was the other shining star, her decision to let Shehroze go and remain silent for Rahim’ sake was also very moving and showed how much she really loved him.
This week AIJ was very exciting with lots happening, keeping us engaged. When Shehroze enters the house and faces Aimen, we didn’t think we would witness what happens next; his mannerism was very threatening as he stepped towards her, but we never really thought that he would actually grab her and drag her downstairs making her recall all that happened in the past. It also made us fearful, is he planning to kill her again since the attempt to murder her in Islamabad failed? We were waiting anxiously for Farooq to reach home before Shehroze harms Aimen.
Surprise, Surprise!
But wait, Shehroze surprises us next. Seems like the time away from home has sharpened him and he uses his common sense, threatening Aimen to keep her mouth shut and not recognise him if she wants Rahim to stay alive. But did he initially plan to murder her and then, realizing how much she loves Rahim, decided to use that as a threat?
Farooq confuses us
What does he want? Where do his loyalties really lie. If he cares about Rahim and Aimen like he claimed in front of Shehroze, why is he letting Afia and Shehroze plan these murder attempts?
Heartwarming Moment
The conversation between Ali Nawaz and Aimen was also heartwarming as he realises how much she really loves his son, and he is convinced of her good intentions.
One Rahim, Two Women
Poor Maheen not only has to live in regret that she failed Rahim, but she might also have false hope that once Rahim is better, he will choose her over Aimen. Little does she know that it is only Aimen who lives in Rahim’s heart.
Aimen’s intense love and dependence on Rahim is both endearing and a little frustrating at the same time. It does feel romantic and dreamy to have a saviour, but then we don’t want women to be able to fight their battles as well. Maybe if Aimen had just omitted the dialogues, “I cannot do it all alone,” the execution would have been more apt. But let’s not underestimate the courage that Aimen is showing surviving despite facing all the threats, mental confusion and most importantly, choosing Rahim over her resolve to get justice. To give up something always requires strength.
Sibling Rivalry
Ali Nawaz’s love for Rahim is blind, making him oblivious to what is going through Shehroze’s heart and mind. The drama focuses on sibling rivalry and how it can push one person to becoming toxic and perhaps also a criminal in many cases. While Shehroze has not been showing it till now, he is clearly bothered by how Ali Nawaz differentiates between him and Rahim.
