The new drama Masoom went on air two weeks ago and is already shaping up to be a story full of struggle, ambition, and complicated relationships.

Imran Ashraf plays Dilshad Faisalabadi, a struggling artist with big dreams of becoming a successful singer. Life, however, has not been kind to him – he is an orphan, burdened with the responsibility of raising his younger sister, and has very little means to pursue his passion for music. Hoping to change his fate, Dilshad travels to Karachi, but his dreams hit a setback the moment he arrives, when a swindler robs him of his luggage, money, and all his essentials.
Sonya Hussyn takes on the role of Neelo, the spoiled and outspoken only child of her parents. Mischievous, strong, and often troublesome, she adds a vibrant but chaotic energy to the story. Dilshad, being distantly related to Neelo’s mother, ends up at their house seeking shelter. While Neelo’s father, played by Waseem Abbas, is unwilling to rent out their upper portion to someone he dismisses as a mere “marasi,” Neelo herself steps in and manages to let Dilshad and his sister stay. From their very first meeting, Dilshad feels a pull towards Neelo, a connection that seems destined to create ripples in both their lives.
Running parallel to this is Mikaal Zulfiqar’s character, a man struggling to balance the responsibilities of being a single father. He is raising his young son, Sunny (played by Abu Hurairah), but finds it increasingly difficult to give him the attention and discipline he needs. As a result, Sunny is growing up spoiled, often causing trouble to the extent that even the neighbors complain about his behavior. This only deepens the father’s sense of guilt and helplessness. While the thought of remarrying could provide some stability to their lives, he remains hesitant and unable to take that step, leaving his household in a constant state of emotional turmoil.
Two episodes in, Masoom has already begun weaving a tale of hope and despair, love and struggle. Dilshad’s hardships deepen when the little money he has left is taken by Neelo as an advance, leaving him with nothing to fall back on. Caught between his dreams of making it as a singer and the harsh realities of survival, his journey promises to be both heart-wrenching and inspiring.
The drama airs every Sunday at 8 PM, and if the first two episodes are any indication, viewers are in for an emotional ride.
