There was definitely a vibe and exchange of unsaid emotions between Manto and Mehmal in his office, when Mehmal insisted on giving him a treat for her engagement and informed him that Miss Maria would not be joining.
The way Manto’s discomfort was silently communicated through Humayun Saeed’s performance, without any dialogue, was remarkable.
Mehmal, being Phuppo’s daughter, seems to be plotting too—the way she planned the whole dinner, leaving poor Manto waiting.
We can’t wait to see what happens next.
