Concerns are rising after four officials from the University of Gwadar went missing while traveling from Gwadar to Quetta earlier this week.

Reports say that Vice Chancellor Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir, Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Syed Manzoor Ahmed, and two staff members were on a road trip when they lost contact near Mastung. Attempts to reach them afterward didn’t work, which alarmed their families and colleagues soon after.
Last traces of the group were around Khad Kocha in Mastung district. Since then, there’s been no confirmed contact. Local authorities and law enforcement have started search operations in the nearby areas. So far, officials haven’t shared much detail, but they say multiple teams are involved and that efforts are ongoing.
There is no denying the fact that the news has definitely raised eyebrows among the academic community, particularly those working at the University of Gwadar, as both officials have notable experience in their respective fields. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir is an eminent individual who has always played an instrumental role in developing the university. He has also helped many coastal and distant students obtain higher education. Most of his peers regard him as a calm and dedicated individual.
In addition, the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dr. Syed Manzoor Ahmed, is one of the most experienced academics in Pakistan. The staff at the university was completely surprised with the news, and the campus has remained under a lot of pressure since then.
Students have also shared messages and prayers on various social media platforms, wishing for positive developments. Most of the students have stated that both individuals did not only serve as administrators but were always approachable and helpful towards the students.
The families of the missing people are in touch with the authorities and are waiting for any news. Representatives from the public and the local population have also voiced their concerns, calling for further actions to be taken.
As of now, the authorities have not released any statements regarding the incident. The search and rescue operations are ongoing, and the authorities have promised to give out more details as they become available.
At present, the only hope is that the four people will be found safe and sound.
This is a developing news.
