Talat Hussain ruled his era, that is no understatement. From performances in dramas, Bandish, Mann Mayal and Parchaiyan, to name a few, to Traffik, Family Pride and more, hic career spanned characters that revealed his versatility as an artist and his utmost professionalism and dedication to the Arts.

Veteran actor Talat Hussain passed this morning. May Allah give him a place in Jannat. An institution in himself and an inspiration to his peers as well as the new generation, he will always be remembered with love and respect.
Talat Hussain Warsi,18th September 1940 – 26th May 2024 was a household name in the Pakistani entertainment industry. The actor amassed great respect amongst the Pakistani industry fraternity.
Hussain ruled stage, TV and cinema. He worked in several foreign films, television drama serials, and long plays, including Channel Four’s television serial Traffik and Family Pride.
Among the many recognitions for his talent and vast body of work, both national and international, Talat Hussain was bestowed the Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Star of Excellence) Award by the President of Pakistan in 2021 and Pride of Performance Award (1982).
In 2006, Hussain won the Amanda Award for the Best Supporting Role in Norwegian film Import-export (2005). He also worked in the Indian film Sautan Ki Beti and made a guest appearance in Jinnah (1998 film).
He was one of the pioneering voices of Radio Pakistan, Karachi.
Talat Hussain was an institution in himself. His formidable body of work stands as a playbook for all aspiring actors – much can be learnt from his personal and career life choices.
The actor was married to Rakshanda Hussain, a professor of Psychology at University of Karachi. They have three children, two daughters and a son. The eldest daughter, Tazeen Hussain has taken up acting once more after a break from the industry.
