“It Took Us 6½ Hours”: Tipu Sharif and Aliya Ali on Filming a Powerful Bas Tera Saath Ho Sequence

Talking about one of the most intense scenes in Bas Tera Saath Ho from recently aired episode, Tipu Sharif revealed that the sequence took nearly six and a half hours to shoot and was completed over the course of two days. He shared that the entire locality was involved in the filming process and praised the team for their hard work. According to Tipu, a lot of effort went into capturing even the smallest details, which is what makes the final result so impactful on screen.

He specifically highlighted the significance of the shawl-removal scene, explaining that it wasn’t just an action but a visual representation of Sana’s dignity being stripped away. Every movement and camera angle had to be executed precisely, making the sequence extremely time-consuming and physically exhausting for everyone involved. Aliya Ali added that emotionally heavy scenes are particularly challenging because they require repeated takes, constant crying, screaming, and maintaining continuity. Tipo recalled how actors often have to redo scenes because of minor issues such as hair placement, expressions, or technical details, making the process even more demanding.

Praising Aliya’s professionalism, Tipo described her as a low-maintenance actress who stays focused on the work rather than worrying about her appearance between takes. Aliya then shared an important lesson she learned from senior actress Rubina Ashraf. She explained that an actor’s true strength lies in their performance, not in perfect hair or makeup. According to Aliya, audiences should be so captivated by a character’s emotions and journey that they don’t want to change the channel. For her, convincing viewers through acting and bringing depth to a character is far more important than looking beautiful on screen.

Aliya Ali & Tipu Sharif on Fame, Recognition, and the Reality of Showbiz

When asked whether they feel they haven’t received the recognition and opportunities their talent deserves despite years in the industry, Aliya Ali responded with remarkable honesty and positivity. She shared that throughout her career, she has poured her heart into every role, regardless of whether it was a lead, supporting, positive, or negative character. Aliya admitted that while some strong performances receive the appreciation they deserve, others fail to gain traction due to factors such as luck, publicity, or circumstances beyond an actor’s control. She revealed that after audiences started associating her with negative roles because those characters generated more buzz, many assumed she only played such parts, even though her body of work is much more diverse.

However, she refused to view her journey through the lens of unfairness. Instead, Aliya emphasized her belief in destiny, saying that whatever is written for her will eventually come her way. She expressed confidence that her hard work, dedication, punctuality, and commitment to her craft are witnessed by both the audience and God, and that true success arrives at the right time.

Tipu Sharif echoed a similarly practical outlook. He stated that the world is not designed to be fair and that actors cannot spend their lives dwelling on opportunities they didn’t receive. According to him, producers make decisions based on business realities, and artists must continue improving themselves rather than focusing on what they believe they deserve. He stressed that anyone choosing this profession must accept its highs and lows and keep moving forward.

Aliya Ali & Tipo Sharif on Audience’s Reaction

When asked about the audience response to her character, Aliya Ali shared that it has been very positive and overwhelming. She recalled an incident from a recent outdoor shoot at a mall where fans approached her with a mix of love and playful reactions. Some even told her, “We hate you, Aliya,” which initially confused her until she realized they were referring to her on-screen character. She explained that it is actually a compliment for an actor when audiences react so strongly to a role, especially a negative one, because it shows the performance has made an impact. Aliya added that this kind of reaction is an achievement in itself, proving that she has done justice to the character.

Tipo Sharif also shared a light-hearted fan moment from the premiere of Zombied. He narrated how he was asked by Fahad Mustafa to bring tea because he was stuck and hiding from the crowd. When he went outside for tea, a fan accidentally dropped her popcorn and jokingly told him that although she loved him, he was “too cruel” to his character, Ansa’s brother. He found the interaction funny and memorable, showing how deeply audiences connect with their roles.

He further mentioned another incident at the airport where young fans excitedly called out “Ansa’s brother,” even though they did not know his real name. Tipo reflected that this is a rewarding feeling for any actor – when people remember the character more than the actor’s real identity. According to him, this is the true success of a role, as it means the character has left a lasting impression on the audience.
