The nation’s heartthrob and a favourite of all the Pakistani cricket team fans, Babar Azam was recently seen in a video message released by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
In the video, Babar thanked all his fans across the globe for always showing immense support to the team. The video was shared on Twitter by PCB:
The video began with Babar sitting before his laptop typing away, with a voice over. He began the letter with ‘meray pyare cricket fans‘ and continued to describe the special bond shared between the Pakistani fans and players, and how they are incomplete without each other. He further added that the best part about the Pakistani cricket team is the fans who are always there whether they are victorious or not.
As the team touches base in England ahead of the ENG vs PAK series, Babar specifically talked about his fans in the UK, who continue to show their support for the team and always give them a warm welcome.
“The biggest fan base we have, after Pakistan, is in the UK, whenever we come to England, cheering fans are present to support us from the airport to the hotels and the ground.”

He added that the team is currently in quarantine in England. Babar and the rest of the team are really excited to see the fans cheering for their team on the ground. As playing to a packed crowd is so much more thrilling (and meaningful) for the players as opposed to playing in empty grounds during covid. The captain concluded by requesting his fans to support the team through TV and social media and informed them that the team aims to win the ODI matches. Pakistan is scheduled to play three ODIs and three T20s against England before the tour concludes on July 20.
