Team Tooth Defenders is the new animated short film revealed by Colgate that might just help young children all over Pakistan understand the ABCs of why Teeth brushing is important!

As mothers struggle to explain the concept of good dental hygiene, Colgate is attempting to help them out in this arduous never-ending task.
The film touches upon the basics of dental hygiene. Through animated characters like Dr. Rabbit and Dr. BrushWell , it passes on some essential ‘Dental’ messages in a very playful manner.

Here are the main ones:
- Don Cavity destroys the Tooth City by causing them to decay & rot when you eat sweets & “meethi” toffees.
- Tooth Defenders fight Don through toothbrushes that must be replaced once in 3 months, or else they are too weak to fight the plaque.
- “Brush Brush Brush din mein dou baar karein” – the rule parents repeat daily but children can’t seem to follow, it might just become children’s morning anthem now.
- Visiting the dentist once every 6 months for a checkup!
- And, at last, how can we forget the final weapon: fluoride tooth paste- the key to good dental hygiene!
What stands out? The complete Urdu commentary and voice overs can effectively help spread the message among the masses.
How many times have siblings used the wrong toothbrush in the morning?
“Tum nay mera toothbrush le liya!”
When the character shouts this out, children will immediately identify with having been there & done that countless times; many moms will nod their heads happily to see that the ‘wrong toothbrush syndrome’ happens in every household!
And so, young school going children might just love the idea of labelling their toothbrush to quickly identify it as they hurry up for school in the morning.
The puppy-cute characters might not win over adults but we have to remember: they’re not for us!
The Tooth City Battle
The Tooth Defenders vs. Don Cavity battle takes place inside your mouth. Daanton key bodyguards help clean teeth, gums, and tongue from Don Cavity’s “toufiyon ka toofan” ; the visually appealing plot coupled with colorful animated characters and catchy voice-overs altogether help convey an important message to children in a very light playful manner – one they might miss when adults explain it to them.

If Colgate wants our children to start brushing their teeth, regularly and effectively, they might just have hit the ‘white spot with Tooth Defenders!’
Such short imaginary films usually grab the interest of young ones when they’re rolled out. What will make it click for kids? A new adventure with a captivating story-line that will keep your child hooked until Tooth Defenders win over Don Cavity.

The Tooth City characters will grow on children just like Captain Safeguard did, who was later turned into a household name. Tooth Defenders might just be the next iconic heroes for children, who knows?
However, we did find the film a tad too long. Perhaps the 8 minutes could have been shortened to 6 minutes, not sure if a youngster will keep the attention span going for 8!
