The latest plot twist in Raja London Ka is making us sit up and take note. The tale is one of a vintage love story where two heroes are in love with the same girl – but is it all as simple as it seems or, does Adil suspect more than he’s letting on?

Do Adil’s Plans Run Deeper Or, Is It Just Fate?
Are We Giving Raja London Ka More Credit Than Your Average Pakistani Drama
Adil employing Raja as Rani’s bodyguard is a great move and one we didn’t see coming. But here’s the question on our minds: Is Adil as genuine as he seems? Is it all about protecting Rani and enlisting the best, most trustworthy man for the job, or is it because he suspects something more between these two and knows, who better to trust than someone who will guard Rani with his life?
Agreed, we might be reading too much into the character, but here’s why we’re suspecting a deeper layer in the story
- Why no one questioned that Adil’s car was parked outside Landa bazaar in the dead of night?
- If Adil is sharp enough to question where Sikandar was at the time of the attack, why is he not sharp enough to question why Rani did not go straight home?
Adil is certainly getting sharper as he spends more time getting a closer look at the conspiracies of the political world he’s just beginning to step into. In order to stay on top, he’s to be tapping in on the motivations that drive people to act as they do. He promptly set the record straight with Raja’s mom and cleared her son’s character – a sign that he wanted to make sure he enlists raja for the job. But did he zone in on Raja because he suspected more motivations, and knew Raja would certainly be up for the job because it’s Rani he’s protecting?
Not just another poor boy-rich girl saga
The plot twist has added extra spark to the story, especially as audiences initially felt it spiraling into another dramatic poor boy-rich girl saga. What intrigues one is not just that Raja and Rani will now be spending a whole lot of time together, but will Adil smell the coffee any time soon (if he hasn’t already). Is he already aware of their feeling towards each other. And if not, when he does find out (which he will sooner or later), will he turn into a dark hero, – tsk, no surprises there in the world of Pakistani dramas – or, step aside and let his heroine take her pick – the tragic hero or the dark villain?
The vintage sets, the damsel in distress scenario and the action sequences certanly add the filmy feels to the drama. For those watching, maybe the dramatics are enough to stay on for the ride, but here’s our take…
Raja London Ka certainly won a second lifeline with the new twist and we’d love to know your thoughts, so drop us a comment below.
