Shaista Lodhi is not only a prominent Pakistani television host, actress, but also a renowned aesthetics consultant with several years of experience and expertise in the field. She has several dermatology clinics by the name of SL Aesthetics in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.

The All Natural Gut Healer

She started off with a great all-natural tip, for everybody! “If you and your family don’t consume desi ghee, then please start eating one spoon of desi ghee in the morning on an empty stomach, you can eat it on its own, or on a bread. You can also eat it with paratha otherwise, you can have it with hot water or even your coffee”

The Trending Skincare Ingredient, Alpha Arbutin

Dr.Shaista agrees Alpha Arbutin is quite the popular skincare ingredient for teenagers these days. “Alpha Arbutin is an agent which helps to remove wrinkles, dark spots, sun spots, age spots. This is an agent which you can apply not only at night but also during the day, it is very good for acne marks and sunspots and it keeps your skin healthy which in turn increase cellular turnover. Yes, it can help on acne but it can also help on removing marks.

Especially, if girls have greasy skin they should use acids like alpha arbutin, salicylic acid, azelaic acid, ferulic acid these are the ingredients which are in the content in the composition of your cream or face wash.”

Debunking Botox Myths

Did you know Baby Botox is quite the new trend in anti aging and age prevention. It’s a tad bit different from your regular botox.

But first, Dr. Shaista debunks some myths about botox:

“We have shown some serious malpracticing on Google with Dr.Google and have scared people in society so much that people say, Oh, this is artificial. What we fail to realise and learn is, Botox has therapeutic uses, it also helps in migraine, Botox is even given in the special part of the jaw for teeth pain”

“You have to understand that wherever we want to retard the muscle, Botox can retard it and there is no pain. Whether it is any part of the body. When we apply the injection and retard the nerve/area, there will be no muscle pain.”

What Is Baby Botox & Why You Would Want To Get It?

“There are special points on the face where Botox can be applied, Botox can not be applied on the whole face in the 20s, not on the whole face, but on the eyes or lines. Botox can be done in a small amount, to make the lines better, to make the jaw more snatched. If you apply baby botox on your face It can reduce the intensity of the emotions but in your 20s, your skin is already producing collagen so much. If you want to make it better by getting it botoxed and want to avoid more wrinkling, then yes, baby Botox can help.”

The Desi Multivitamin ‘Panjeeri’ A Must For All Women (Yes, Not Just New Mothers)

“Another misconception is that only if you have given birth, you should eat Panjeeri and not after that. But nowadays, our diets lack nutrients, we face a lot of deficiencies and health issues, the reason is our lifestyle. We have a lot of physical inactivity, our diet is not the same and we just load up on multivitamins. We dont real natural multivitamins.”

“But if you take one or one and a half spoon of panjeeri, if your grandmother/mother has made it or you have ordered it from outside. I am 100% sure that your vitamin D deficiency, calcium deficiency and hormone deficiency which are leading to emotional problems will be resolved. “My skin cannot be like the skin of a Korean girl, there are genes involved too. But my skin can definitely be luminous, spot free, and I can make those spots lighter.”

She emphasized the importance of oxygen for our skins: “So why don’t we do things naturally so that oxygen is infused in our skin and if we wash our hair daily, if we wash our skin daily, if we try to do a walk or jog for 40-45 minutes so that the oxygen supply goes to each and every cell, why don’t we do such things so that we get direct oxygen supply. It reduces your acne, blemishes, wrinkles, makes collagen!”
