Welcome back Fazal Baksh, even if only for a few dialogues.

But seems like the team got so busy with the romance in the drama that they forgot to pay attention to the final action sequence. In the previous episode, Shibra had an issue with Shahmeer joining the party and launching his career with a speech that was not 100% true, but now, amazingly she was completely okay with Shahmeer promoting her father as the head of his department and faking her signatures. Was the drama revealing the reality of CSS candidates, or, unknowingly, undermining those who achieve this coveted position through sheer hard work?
Married Romance Needs Evolution?
How we wish we could see some variety in romantic scenes other than the monotonous and repetitive “looking into each other’s eyes”. This “eye to eye” contact would make sense if they were not married, and didn’t have a chance to meet often but when you are married, and enjoy your privacy, then maybe romance can be more evolved or interesting?
What? Is That Really You Suleiman Sahib?
Suleiman Sahib spent the entire drama fighting for his principles, even putting Sukaina’s marriage at risk. But all of a sudden, without much hesitation, he accepted the position that Shahmeer has just handed to him and was also okay with the fact that Shahmeer faked Shibra’s signature on the CSS forms.
Well, it is interesting to see what happens next – how will Mehreen and her father defeat Shibra and remove her from Shahmeer’s life?
Dawood’s Dark Deeds
Looks like Dawood was involved in the murder of Zubaida begum. His dark deeds will certainly return to haunt him very soon. But while we wait for Shahmeer to catch up with the truth, we wonder about the following … Shibra, even after knowing the truth about Dawood, still goes alone to submit her papers, without informing Shahmeer. The drama doesn’t even show her trying to caution Shahmeer indirectly or being extra careful about herself and Shahmeer.
Action Sequences
While the balcony scene with the target light on Shibra’s head was well executed, the car shooting scene seemed like child’s play. A deadly politician who is responsible for multiple murders and conspiracies will surely hire better contract killers. Also the last scene of the episode with Shahmeer’s head bowed down, deep in thought, didn’t connect. Did he decide to go into his thinking, silent mode, just at the moment when Shibra was being attacked?
Most importantly, how can Shahmeer who was shown to be so sharp and alert, not suspect anyone around him to be involved in the attacks… or is the drama going to surprise us later, with Shahmeer knowing everything and planning something bigger?
Relatable Character Depictions
All independent and career-oriented female characters in our dramas end up cooking in the kitchen. Not that there is anything wrong with showing this, but surely, we can show them doing something else as well, which stays true to who they are meant to be shown as. The curse of stereotyping and lack of creative and relatable scenes will probably never exit our dramas. We hope Shibra’s CSS plans stay on track!
Suleiman Sahib’s dialogues about talented youth leaving the country, highlighted an important and sad fact.
