Will Kamyar change and realise he was wrong for stalking Ayra? And will this realisation and change redeem both Kamyar and the drama? Meri Zindagi Hai Tu still has many red flags, but thank God it has finally started showing some green ones.

Ayra hits Kamyar in college after finding out he was responsible for Falak’s rejection. When someone is pushed to the wall and angered to such an extent, can we really expect her to control her emotions and think wisely? Probably not; the anger becomes uncontrollable, and Ayra loses it once again. It is not advisable to hit someone powerful and unhinged like this, because in real life the repercussions could be devastating. Getting hit in front of the entire college can be a huge blow to anyone’s ego.
The drama tried to show how being stalked can make a person extremely fearful, but because of the light-hearted treatment and background score in many stalking scenes, this message was heavily compromised. Ayra does say this week how fearful she is and how she is losing her sanity because of Kamyar.
Dadi’s reaction to Ayra telling her the truth makes you question, what??? Such a light and non-serious response to such a serious revelation. But perhaps Dadi was trying to understand Ayra in that moment, and she didn’t want to scold Kamyar then because she knew it wouldn’t work. She does, however, caution him very seriously later, making him realise how wrong he is and guiding him beautifully. What a heart-winning conversation! Dadi truly stole the show: “Be humble, win her heart. Do your best; the rest is whatever Allah wills.”
We thought Kamyar would stop stalking Ayra after this, but maybe we were expecting too much too soon. Still, once Ayra makes him sit down in the restaurant, he shifts from “I won’t accept a no” to “Just give me one chance.” Seems like Dadi’s words finally started sinking in.
We like how Ayra explained that she is scared of him and that fear cannot be the basis of a relationship. Kamyar simply cannot accept a “no” when it comes to what he wants. When she explains this, he first refuses to accept it and says he cannot go back from hum to main aur tum. But later, he asks her to give him one last chance. So we wonder: even if he completely changes, will this one personality streak become the biggest challenge in the future?
Ayra doesn’t ask him to change; he chooses to change for her, to become the version she would like. That’s an important storytelling point.
We are loving the start of camaraderie between Ishtiaq and Kamyar. The lift scene was funny, as was Kamyar convincing Ishtiaq’s parents about Falak. We kept wondering what he would do. Despite being over-the-top and a bit imperfect, we have to give Kamyar credit: he saved the day without putting anyone except Ishtiaq at risk. Telling the truth that he thought it was Ayra might not have gone well, especially since he plans to marry her.
If only the drama had not shown Kamyar burning the car or stalking Ayra so intensely, the story would not have received so much negativity. They could have simply shown him as a spoiled, carefree guy who doesn’t take life seriously but desperately wants to marry Ayra.
The drama also suffers from the typical, stereotypical sazishi female character, as Fariha threatens Ayra in college to stay away from Kamyar, which makes zero sense.
