Mohra, starring Laiba Khan, Syeda Tuba Anwar, Mikaal Zulfiqar, and Aagha Ali, has just kicked off and is already faring well with Pakistani drama fans, the first episode has crossed 5.1 million views on YouTube!

If you haven’t had time to catch up on the first few episodes, don’t worry, we’re here to break down the story for you so far!
So, What’s Mohra All About?
Mohra follows the lives of two sisters, Alizay (played by Laiba Khan) and Anooshay (played by Syeda Tuba Anwar), who have been raised by their single mother. While both are intelligent and responsible, they have very different personalities , Alizay is sharp, confident, and knows how to set boundaries, whereas Anooshay is softer, more trusting, and a little naive. Their strong bond and upbringing form the emotional backbone of the story.
Things begin to change when Anooshay crosses paths with Sikandar (played by Aagha Ali), a spoilt, entitled rich boy with no real sense of accountability or respect for others. His character stands in sharp contrast to his elder brother Hamza (played by Mikaal Zulfiqar), who is responsible, supportive, and helps manage the family business. While Hamza reflects a stable and dependable figure, Sikandar is impulsive, volatile, and takes offense very easily, especially when his ego is challenged.
Meanwhile, Hannan, Alizay’s long-time neighbour, finally gathers the courage to propose to her after securing a stable job. He’s liked her quietly for years. Her mother accepts the proposal, and Alizay’s life seems to be moving in a positive direction. But just as things are settling for one sister, the other is pulled into a destructive path.
After a confrontation with Sikandar where Anooshay slaps him, he becomes obsessed with taking revenge. Instead of letting things slide, he manipulates her emotionally and stages an entire plan to win her trust, including pretending to have a changeover, buying her flowers, confessing his love for her, orchestrating an entire situation where he saves her from the clutches of two goons (all preplanned by Sikandar and unknown to Anooshay), and ultimately threatening suicide if she doesn’t agree to marry him. Feeling helpless and under pressure, Anooshay lies to her mother (with help from her university friend Anum) and marries Sikandar in secret.
What follows is a disturbing twist: the very next morning, Sikandar reveals the nikah was all part of his revenge plan. He insults Anooshay, tells her that everything, from the gunshot to the nikkah, was planned, divorces her on the spot, and asks her to leave his house. It’s a shocking and heartbreaking betrayal that completely shatters Anooshay.
So What’s Next?
This is the turning point where Alizay steps in. It’s clear she won’t stay silent about what happened to her sister. While we know she will fight back, the real question is how she’ll do it, and that’s what keeping viewers invested in the story.
Mohra doesn’t offer something completely new. It uses many well-known themes, the good girl and the bad boy, the responsible brother vs. the reckless one, and the idea of love used as a trap. But what makes it watchable is its execution: the story moves at a steady pace, the characters are well-written, promising emotional depth in relationships. You may recognize the patterns, but the story still manages to hold your interest.
To find out what Alizay will do next, don’t miss Mohra, airing every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 8:00 PM, only on Geo Entertainment.
