The relatable storyline and swoon-worthy love story have captured hearts everywhere. Today, we’re sitting down with two of the show’s driving forces, Qasim & Nimmi AKA Zoya Nasir & Raeed Muhammad to dish out some juicy BTS moments and touch upon a few other interesting topics too, read on!

Raeed Muhammad & Zoya Nasir On Kaffara

I had high hopes for it (Kaffara), and it’s living up to these hopes.

Zoya Nasir

Zoya shared that her involvement in Kaffara came about somewhat unexpectedly. She admitted to not giving the script her full attention initially, as everything was done last minute. Reflecting on her experience, she acknowledged that she hadn’t fully grasped the depth of the story when she first signed on, but as things unfolded, she grew into her role.

Iffi bhai ne kaha bro tujhe ye karna hai, ye bara mazay ka character hai. Unhon ne kaha jab tum ye kroge tumhain is character se pyaar hojayega.

Raeed Muhammad

Raeed revealed that he wasn’t originally planning to do Kaffara, as he was committed to another drama at the time. However, a call from Iffi Bhai, the director, changed his mind. He was told the character was interesting and that he would likely fall in love with it once he gave it a chance. After receiving a brief on the role and realizing his schedule aligned, he decided to take the plunge and join the project.

Which Scene Was The Most Difficult To Shoot In Kaffara?

I think the most difficult scene for me was jab hamari shadi ki raat hoti hai.

Raeed Muhammad

Raeed explained that acting involves drawing from personal experiences—whether it’s romance, anger, or conflict—because these emotions are part of life. However, there are situations an actor may never have faced in real life, and portraying those convincingly can be challenging. The key, according to Raeed, is performing in a way that resonates with the audience. If a scene doesn’t connect with viewers, it loses its impact. For him, the challenge was ensuring his performance felt authentic and relatable, so the audience could truly accept and engage with it.

How Do Drama Time Slots Impact Careers & Opportunities?

I don’t think slot has anything to do with opportunities.

Zoya Nasir

Zoya believes that the time slot of a drama doesn’t impact an actor’s success. She explained that the quality of the actor’s performance and the project’s resonance with the audience truly matter. If a drama performs well and the actor delivers a strong performance, opportunities will follow. However, a good actor in a poorly received drama or vice versa can affect future prospects. For Zoya, the key factor is the audience’s reaction—whether it’s a 7pm, 8pm, or even a Ramzan special, success depends on how well the project is received and the actor’s ability to capture attention.

Mere liye matter ye karta hai k character bohat bara ho.

Raeed Muhammad

Raeed agreed with Zoya, adding that he approaches every character with the same dedication, regardless of the time slot. Whether it’s a 7pm, 8pm, or 9pm drama, his goal is always to make his character stand out and bring something new to the role. He noted that although 8pm dramas may have more privilege and receive more attention from producers, the focus should be on the character’s depth and the actor’s performance. According to him, if an actor is truly talented, the world will take notice, regardless of the time slot.

Does One sided Love Lead To Depression?

I think it depends on how you handle it.

Raeed Muhammad

Raeed discussed how love, especially unrequited love, affects people in different ways. He explained that it depends on how someone handles their emotions—some may feel depressed after a loss, while others find joy in seeing someone else happy. Using his character Qasim as an example, Raeed highlighted how unrequited love can lead to frustration and a search for reasons behind the lack of reciprocation. Society reflects these diverse reactions, and his character portrays the struggles of someone who doesn’t receive the love they desire, revealing the darker side of unfulfilled emotions.

Boys and girls who don’t get their love either let go of it and move on with their life, but they will be depressed. I have seen some people who start conspiring. It goes both ways.

Zoya Nasir

Zoya added that unrequited love often turns into obsession, as shown through her character Nimmi, who became determined to win over Salar. When she couldn’t have him, she tried to ensure that no one else could either. Zoya pointed out that in real life, people either accept their circumstances and move on or spiral into depression. Some even resort to manipulation and scheming out of bitterness, demonstrating how unreciprocated love can lead to both emotional turmoil and destructive behavior.

Zoya & Raeed Shared Their POV On Materialism & Its Influence

It has become so much that’s why our children are getting anxiety and depression because they see people and start comparing their lives.

Zoya Nasir

Zoya expressed her concerns about how materialism has taken over society, influencing people’s perceptions of success and self-worth. She pointed out that society constantly judges people based on their possessions, where they live, and their social status. This pressure to measure up creates anxiety, especially in the younger generation, as they compare themselves to others and feel trapped in a race they can’t win. Zoya emphasized that this endless comparison has contributed to a rise in depression, as people view themselves as failures when they can’t meet these materialistic expectations.

It is very important to have self-satisfaction. Our parents should teach their kids what self-satisfaction is.

Raeed Muhammad

Raeed reflected on how earlier times, particularly in the 90s, lacked the material distractions present today. He observed that the rise of technology has made people more focused on accumulating wealth and status, from owning luxury cars to wearing high-end brands. According to him, this shift has intensified societal pressures. He emphasized the importance of teaching self-satisfaction, especially to younger generations, as this theme also appears in Kaffara. The characters struggle with self-satisfaction, highlighting how materialism often leaves people feeling empty despite their possessions.
