Relax!

Breastfeeding needs a calm mindset. Ditch stress and guilt. Push away negative thoughts. Focus on positivity!

Hydrate!

Keep a glass of water handy before breastfeeding. You’ll need it and it aids milk flow when baby the latches on.

Switch Sides Every 5-15 Minutes

This depends on the baby’s feeding speed. Switching sides can boost milk flow. It’s essential to adjust accordingly.

Helping Your Baby Latch On

This can be tough for new moms. But seek help. Get guidance from a feeding expert. Stay calm. Avoid distractions while nursing. Your baby can sense you talking over the phone, or with another person in the room. Try to focus on the task at hand and your newborn to make breastfeeding comfortable (and a bonding experience) for you and her.

Night Time Feeds

Discipline is key. Avoid nursing lying down. Stick to one spot. Gently pat your baby to sleep after feeding and changing.

Give Yourself &Your Baby Time

Find a quiet place. Set up a comfy chair or sofa in your room. Use a footstool for comfort. Keep a pillow handy for support.

Your Milk Is What You Eat & Drink

Your milk reflects your diet. Eat and drink well for nutritious breastfeeding. Semolina cooked in milk may aid lactation. Stay hydrated. If the baby is colicky, consult your doctor about diet changes. What’s hard for you to digest is likely hard for the baby too. There’s no one formula that fits all. Trial and error works!

Let Go Of The Guilt!

Tried everything? If breastfeeding isn’t working, don’t feel guilty. Consult your doctor for formula alternatives tailored to your child’s needs.

Sore Or Tender Breasts?

Experiencing sore or tender breasts? It’s common in the breastfeeding journey. Improper latching may be the cause. Consult your doctor and keep a doctor-approved ointment nearby for relief. The rough patches will smooth out soon.

Guilt, mistakes, and problems are part of every journey. Overcome them without stressing. Believe in yourself and cherish your body. It has produced a beautiful human being. Feel great and be proud for doing more than enough for your little bundle of joy!
