It’s time for the Top 5 dramas of the week and while the Pakistani drama season is heating up yet again, with some stories reaching a climax and others, still beginning, the week left us with some cliffhangers, suspense, action, thrill and yes, romance. These are the 5 dramas that made it to our Top 5 this week. Read on…

5. Doctor Bahu
Doctor Bahu takes 5th place although it could have easily taken 4 as well. It was close call between no. 4 and no. 5. Perhaps we have high hopes from this story as it has touched higher points earlier, especially with the now endearing relationship between Salman and Saniya as well as the action packed scenes of the previous episodes. We expect this one to go up in ranking very soon, things are coming to a climax and the Dr Shahnawaz household is about to explode with everything brewing just beneath the surface. But for now, it sits at no. 5

4. Bas Tera Saath Ho
Anas and Ansa’s story is about to begin and while we loved the way dada and phoppo got a glimpse of these two at the hospital, we can’t wait to see how they are finally brought together, how Ansa will report the fake video and will Anas finally take a stand before Shehreen and Shayan? This one is building up into an intense narrative where we are rooting for both the main leads – the story is at a precipice and next week promises to amp up the ongoings in the Mursaleen household as they learn of dada’s change of will. For now, Bas Tera Saath Ho sits at no. 4.

3. Leader
Leader delivered another blockbuster and a shocker in the final moments as Asif fell to a very sudden death. The political comspiracies, Dada Sahib’s exploitation and manipulation and the performances of both Ali Raza and Kinza Hashmi as well as some stellar scenes made this episode a winner. Sitting and no. 3 and going strong is Leader!

2. Aik Aur Mohabbat
New drama on the block is promosing a refreshing story and for now, we’re not overthinking this one. Certain scenes really delivered a moment – humour, dialogue and characters came together to grab instant likeability, especially Maya Ali’s character Khushbakht as a single working mom, and Ahad Raza Mir’s character as Haroon that gave off slightly comedic, very relatable vibes as a character who certainly needs to tread his journey. We hope the next few episodes can do justice to the minumental cast featured in Aik Mohabbat Aur.
Note: Choppy edits might slip this one to no. 3 or 4 next week and we sincerely hope that’s not the case.

1. Zanjeerain
Zanjeerain just hit it out of the park. A clear winner in every way – from performance to direction, storytelling, mood, plot and dialogue – Zanjeerain said it all, even in the silent scenes where Rabeeya emoted beautifully and Sar Buland gave her all the room to express herself. Sajal Aly and Daniyal Zafar scored a in every frame but that’s not to take away from the rest of the cast – Usman Javed, Sehar Hashmi, Samiya Mumtaz and more who brought it all together beautifully. Two thumbs up and a standing ovation for Zanjeerain which has rightly earned its spot right on top at no. 1!
