Pakistani dramas have long been a one-stop destination for entertainment, social messaging, comedy, now, a sprinkling of mystery as well as yes, you guessed it, drama, drama, and more drama!

At FUCHSIA, we felt it’s about time we gave you the high points of the week with a breezy breakdown of the scenes that made it to our reviewer’s top drama moments of the week.
So, hold your breath and relive the moments as we give you up first n number one…
1. Wali and Dada from Parwarish

The scene was one of sheer nostalgia, wisdom and an endearing meeting of Gen Z and Baby Boomers. When dada gifts Wali the guitar strings, it was a quiet nod to his passion for music, and then, when he, just as wisely, explained to him, the wisdom of going with the flow, not taking harsh decisions, but letting life decide where it takes him, it was a lesson in life that many Gen X, Gen Y, all the way up to Gen Z needed to hear.
“Jab kandhon par zimadariyun ka bojh hota hai tau shauq angrai nahi le sakta...’ On dada’s own journey where he gave up his passion for music to be more practical and support his family. Yet schooling Wali not to let his (dada’s journey) necessarily become his own.

“Zindagi mein passion hona buhat zaroori hai, Lekin iss passion mein aapko khud ko faramosh nahi kar sakte…Tumhein mauqa mila hai…Abhi buhat si umar baaqi hai, Ho sakta hai tumhain Medicine pasand aajaye,Ya phir medicine ki field tumhein reject karde?Zindagi mein waqt kay saath raaste badalte rehte hain,Aur manzilain bhi.” All this, with zero regret from dada, taking joy in providing for his family, was the most uplifting we saw on TV this week.
Pack in Faiz sahab’s ghazal “Raat Youn Dil Mein Teri Khoyi Hui Yaad” hummed and composed by the man himself Arshad Mehmood aka Dada in Parwarish, and you’ve got yourself a tear-jerking moment as many might have used the second screen to google Dhoop Kinare, Marina Khan and Rahat Kazmi emoting to the vocals of Nayyar Noor, the queen herself. Whew, that was a heavy write, and watch. So go on and listen to some golden oldies this weekend – Urdu ghazals will always set the mood.
2. Farhad declaring his love in pure filmy style to Shirin in Shirin Farhad

If Shirin Farhad isn’t giving you the right hint of nostalgia x filmy feels, then are you even a Pakistani drama fan? As if Farhad’s front flick hairdo, Shirin’s block heels and puff sleeves weren’t enough, now we have the dialogues to match the feels! Farhad about to knock on Shirin’s door, the silent street, with Shirin appearing quietly from behind and watching as he departs, the soundtrack with Ali Zafar’s vocals accompanied by Amna Rai, belting out.
“Karte karte teri baatein,Thakte nahin din aur raatein, Dil tera hogaya…” was the poetic moment all of us in love needed when things are left unsaid… but of course, Farhad wasn’t about to not complete the job later.
When Farhad confesses his feelings to Shirin, it was a filmy moment, yet one etched in dialogues that would make it hard to look away for any heroine. Albeit our Shirin took off soon after, we know what’s in her heart. “Mujhe aapko bataana tha mujhe aapse muhabbat ho gayi Shirin… Agar mein na batata tau aisa lagta koi farz qaza kar dia.”
The poetry in the words, love doesn’t have to be flowery, but it certainly needs the right dialogues, and Farhad left Shirin speechless. After all, the way to a man’s heart might be through his stomach btu all a girl needs sometimes are the words she wants to hear, uttered in true filmy style.
Check yes for Farhad here!
3. Dayan and Nihaal Falling

Now while the last two scenes had a poetic air to them, this one is all for the drama lover in you. Drama, drama and more drama. When the conspirators in Dayan – Fauzia, Aamir, Zakia and Javed chose to strike, no one knew that Nihaal would be sent to her grave, literally.
The scene receives full marks in shock value and a plot twist no one saw coming. (Don’t tell us the promos had it, coz we certainly missed them, and we’d suggest you do too). When audiences were expecting a stretched out, filmy scene where Nihaal was tortured and then sent off to her mother’s this fatal attack left us on the edge of our seats. And whether you’re watching dayan to appease the guilty pleasure seeker in you or you truly love the prolonged, slo-mo gazes and filmy pauses, this scene hit a chord and caused one to sit up and take note!
Tell us if you agree!
4. Akbar and Taimoor at the Karachi Zoo in Paradise

Wahaj Ali and Sehar Khan Slated To Star In New Drama Series On HUM TV
Now that was a refreshing outdoors shoot that made us smile. Akbar flexing Karachi like a true Karachiite and showing us around in a double decker-ish bus at the Karachi Zoo was undoubtedly a smile moment in the drama.
That said, Umer Aalam is hitting it out of the park with his comedy – entertaining, amusing and subtle, Akbar is becoming a character we look forward to in the biweekly Paradise episodes.
A shout out to the creators for giving us a taste of Karachi – and for those who didn’t know, plan your next trip to the zoo. The weekend awaits!
And that’s it folks, our top 4 Pakistani drama scenes of the week. Tell us if you wanted more, did we miss any or we’re on-spot here!
