The Holy month of Ramadan is finally here! And as excited as we are, some of us are already feeling the extra fatigue whilst fasting. However, you don’t always have to feel like you’re struggling during your Roza. With these five productivity tips, FUCHSIA is here to help you get things done during Ramadan!

1. Meal Prep In Advance
Realistically, most of our time during Ramadan is spent meal prepping. From making an average of three separate meals a day (Sehri, Iftar and dinner), there’s little room for anything else. By making a detailed weekly meal plan in advance you can minimize the amount of time spent on indecisiveness. You can also go the “make-ahead” route, where you can cook freezer-friendly meals in advance and heat them before serving. Not only will this bring a lot of variety to your daily meals, but it will also be a secure back-plan for days when you went out Eid shopping last-minute and forgot to cook dinner. However, whatever meal plan you devise, make sure it’s a balanced meal and not just comfort or fried food ;).
2. Utilise The Time After Sehri Wisely
Most of us take our mandatory Roza nap after Sehri and don’t realise we’re wasting away crucial daytime hours! You are at your most productive during the day – your senses are heightened and your body is at its peak, ready to get things done. However, because you spent the night away playing ‘Ludo Star’ and ‘Among Us’ (or whatever new fad there is at the moment) you didn’t let your body rest. This constant state of fatigue is detrimental to your health in the long run, and while you may be having fun now, you might have to face repercussions sooner rather than later. A good fix is to get yourself to bed on time and remove any distractions so you can get your 8 hours of sleep. Then, when you wake up for sehri make sure not to sleep or take any naps. Instead, plan out your day ahead of time.

3. List ‘Em Down
This brings us to our next tip… make a list! Yes, the old-fashioned kind with boxes you can check off after you complete a task. Make sure you’re listing everything down (paper or a whiteboard will work great) and placing it in a high visibility area for you, such as the fridge, on your mirror, etc. By ensuring that the to-do list stays in your line of vision you’ll be prompted to get all your tasks done and will be less likely to procrastinate.
4. Differentiate Between Important Vs Urgent Tasks
Now you’ve made a to-do list, great! If you want to take it a step further to get more organised and don’t want to feel rushed, make sure you list down items in terms of importance and urgency. Yes, those two things are indeed different. Urgent tasks a.k.a. “crisis management”, are tasks that are externally influenced and need to get done ASAP whether you like it or not, for e.g. submitting the important report for work before the deadline, paying your bills, etc. These will go at the top of the list. Important tasks are internally motivated and bring you deep satisfaction and joy, these will come second and will include things such as taking out time to try out a new recipe for your family, self-pampering, etc.

5. Make The Most Of Ramadan, Get Those Steps In!
Lastly, fasting during Ramadan doesn’t mean you’re allowed to binge on pakoras and jalebis without getting your steps in for the day! You’ve worked hard all year round to stay fit and you’re not going to get lazy now. Take out time after iftar and go for a walk or even a light jog. Cardio never hurt anybody! Not only will it help you with indigestion, but it will also make you feel refreshed!
We hope these tips will help you be more productive this Ramadan! Let us know what you do during Ramdan to stay focused and motivated. We look forward to hearing from you!
