Romance, political and social commentary, served up with a bit of humour… Gentleman is all this and much more. The interactions between Munna and Zarnab are interesting, romantic and keep you hooked. Faris keeps proving there is no end to his evilness. Rehmati is probably the most fun character to watch in this drama.

Zarnab Falling For Munna
Love the way the last few episodes have shown Zarnab and Munna getting to know each other. The interactions show how Zarnab is falling for Munna and not just that, but she is also experiencing a newfound respect for him. He is giving her reality checks, making her feel how important she is and also, and last but not the least, is willing to change for her. Munna cannot believe his dream is coming true and with every passing moment, he is discovering himself, becoming stronger and clearer about himself in this journey of love. The conversation between Zarnab and Munna where he tells her about Rehmati arranging the car for her was stressful, yet you couldn’t skip it. You felt bad for Zarnab to have to go through this but also, maybe she needed to have this conversation to stop judging people on their face value.
Their romance is old school yet has something very refreshing about it… the confidence Zarnab has that he will do anything for her, the unquestionable love Munna has for her, willing to change everything; they don’t say it out loud but so many of their conversations communicate these messages. Most importantly, at the core, their love is not just defined by blind devotion, but blooming with mutual respect for each other’s values, character and honesty.
Rehmati Vs. Munna’s Epic Conversation
Rehmati and Munna’s conversation was just epic. You couldn’t stop laughing. Just the right blend of humour, threat and showing a new side to Munna. The dialogues, execution and performances were just top-notch.
Dilbar & Zulmi Showing Real Potential
Where we enjoy Zarnab and Munna, the pair will be incomplete without Dilbar and Zulmi. Their presence, interactions and expressions make every situation so much more enjoyable. Often, the ensemble cast is not utilized to its fullest potential, but here we love that these two have a crucial role to play. Let’s be honest, we are becoming fans of Zulmi … Dilbar tau already humain jeet chukay thay.
Faris Disappoints Yet Again
Oh Faris… sad to see you stooping so low. That Zarnab would choose someone like Munna over him has really hurt his ego. If he didn’t feel it enough already, this reality is being rubbed in exaggeratedly by people around him. Faris is to be feared more than Rehmati. A man with a bruised ego can do anything. What is Mifrah up to? She is being too good to be true and that is honestly not so interesting. Why did she make Faris call Zarnab? There was no need for that.
Social Thought Points
Amidst all this romance, threats and humor, the drama raises many valid, thought-provoking points about bureaucratic practices, the reality behind many social and commercial setups. The burning question: if people like Munna choose to walk away from being a “bhai”, will that mean that more bhais like Rehmati will flourish? Will we have to keep sacrificing Munnas to keep the number of Rehmati’s and Faris’ in control? There are scenes like the conversation with the pigeon, which are borderline cute and inane. But there are many other scenes which make up for all such moments in the script.
