FUCHSIA: The Week In Rewind
FUCHSIA: The Week In Rewind

We figured we’d save you from the dreaded FOMO – the kind that creeps in when your friends suddenly start talking about “that wild update” or some viral moment, and you’re just sitting there, smiling like you totally know what they’re on about. Yeah, we’ve all been there. Maybe you were busy catching your van for university, juggling back-to-back classes, cramming for finals, or just trying to survive your boss’s “urgent” deadlines. Honestly, we get it – adulting is a full-time sport. And in the middle of all that chaos, it’s totally possible you missed a lot this week. No judgment, we’re here to help you catch up.

This week was a whirlwind – from breaking news to entertainment updates that had the internet buzzing. So before someone hits you with a “Wait, you didn’t hear?” -let’s bring you up to speed.

Stranger Things Season 5

Netflix has dropped the first full trailer and new poster for Stranger Things Season 5 – its epic, final chapter. Set in the fall of 1987, Hawkins is under military lockdown, scarred by the ever-widening Rifts into the Upside Down. The core group reunites with a single mission: find and destroy Vecna, who ominously looms in a red, stormy sky as the teaser builds toward a fiery showdown. Eleven is in hiding, Max remains in a coma, and emotional stakes soar as every character is pulled back into the supernatural fray.

3. Suleiman Stole The Show In Parwarish This Week

Parwarish: Suleiman - The "Pakistani" Dad Who Took The Spotlight Last Night!
Suleiman In Parwarish

In this week’s episode of Parwarish, it was Suleiman – the father – who completely stole the show. His quiet support, warmth, and that one emotionally loaded scene had viewers hooked. Social media lit up with praise for how naturally he portrayed the desi dad: the kind who doesn’t say much, but says everything when it matters. His performance felt personal, familiar, and moving – the kind of character that stays with you. It’s rare to see a father figure written and performed this honestly, and fans were quick to point that out. If you missed it, it’s worth going back just for his scenes.

We covered the scene in a full article – click here to read.

4. Superman Took A Side – And It Hit Hard

Superman’s latest move wasn’t about capes or combat – it was political. In a moment that caught global attention, the character appeared to take a pro-Palestinian stance, and the message was clear. Subtle yet intentional, it struck a chord with audiences who saw it as more than just a scene – it was a rare instance of a mainstream superhero aligning with the oppressed, and people felt it.

5. 6 Upcoming Book-to-Screen Adaptations You’ll Want On Your Watchlist

Plot Twists & Pretty Faces: Book-to-Screen Adaptations to Look Out For
Book-to-Screen Adaptations to Look Out For

Books jumping to screen is hardly a new trend, but 2024 and 2025 are absolutely stacked with adaptations that actually look good. Not the kind where they erase half the plot or cast someone who doesn’t fit the main character’s entire vibe. We’re talking thoughtful casting, banners with real track records, and stories that already have fanbases foaming at the mouth. From chaotic rom-coms to psychological thrillers and dystopian madness, these upcoming book-to-film projects have us marking calendars and re-reading paperbacks like it’s a school assignment we actually care about.

Four out of six adaptations are all set for release – and we’ve done a full breakdown on what to expect, from cast to story. If you’d like to find out which ones are releasing soon and which are still in the works, tap here.

6. Main Manto Nahi Hoon Kicks Off This Week With A Bang

Main Manto Nahi Hoon: The 2nd Teaser Tells Us Exactly Why It’s Named "Main Manto Nahi Hoon"
Main Manto Nahi Hoon

Main Manto Nahi Hoon just dropped this week, and with the first two episodes out, it’s safe to say the show has pulled us right into its world. The visuals are stunning, and the direction deserves a solid 10/10. The performances are equally impressive. We loved the energy between Saima Noor and Sajal Aly – their phuppo-bhatiji bond lights up the screen. Humayun Saeed’s entry was powerful, and the intense dialogue exchange between Asim Raza Mir, Babar Ali, and Salman Shahid added a lot of depth. One of the standout moments came in Episode 2, with Sajal and Humayun’s scene together – a winner for sure.

7. What’s Happening in Syria: Strikes, Sweida & Rising Tensions

Israel recently carried out airstrikes in Syria, targeting military positions near Damascus. This came as Sweida, a region with a significant Druze population, faced escalating violence. Tensions have risen sharply following clashes between local Druze fighters and regime-aligned elements. The situation is fragile, with fears of wider regional fallout if the conflict deepens. The strikes and unrest also signal a shifting dynamic in how local communities and external powers are responding to the crisis.

8. Bus Ambush In Kalat – Three Musicians Gunned Down

Bus Ambush In Kalat – Three Musicians Gunned Down

A passenger bus carrying a Karachi-based qawwali troupe was ambushed near Niemargh Cross in Kalat, Balochistan. Armed assailants opened fire from both sides, killing three musicians – including two members of the Sabri family (Ahmed and his son Raza) – and critically wounding 13 others, among them a bass guitarist from Karachi’s live-music scene. The attackers stopped the coach before unleashing rapid gunfire targeting innocent civilians, reportedly en route to a Quetta wedding performance.

The provincial government and police launched immediate rescue and search operations, while national leaders – from the prime minister to provincial officials – condemned the attack as “barbaric” and vowed that security forces would bring the perpetrators to justice.

9. TV Anchor Jasmeen Manzoor Alleges Brutal Abuse by Ex-Husband

Jasmeen Manzoor

Senior journalist and TV anchor Jasmeen Manzoor has shared harrowing details of domestic abuse. On July 16, she posted graphic photos on X (formerly Twitter) showing bruising and swelling around her eye and lips, attributing the injuries to her ex-husband. In her emotional posts she wrote, “This is me. Yes, this is my story – my life destroyed by a violent man. I leave my justice to my Allah,” and claimed the attacker had “gifted” her those scars.

She also warned that such violence can happen to anyone – even within the perceived safety of home – writing, “No one is safe even in the house. The most dangerous people are the ones you trust blindly.” Manzoor revealed that she has dozens of other photos documenting the ordeal and has criticized the legal system as “shameful and pathetic,” accusing authorities of inaction. She further claimed the alleged abuser has been living comfortably in Jinnah Hospital for months without consequence.

Social media erupted with support, with many calling for swift justice and systemic reform. Despite the public outcry, there’s no official confirmation of a police complaint or legal proceedings at this time. The case has become a powerful flashpoint in Pakistan’s ongoing conversation around women’s safety and the failures of institutional support systems.
