A mother-in-law whose life encircles around creating chaos and disrupting the life of her daughter in law, apothegms “mein aapni jaan leloongi” to create the unnecessary drama, and a daughter-in-law who has vowed not to utter a single word (as of yet) even when she is tormented domestically in every way there is in the book. Sounds familiar, doesn’t it? Well, somehow that’s the narrative most of our Pakistani dramas hold nowadays. except for a few (which to be honest are like a breath of fresh air). Is the new drama Mere Humsafar planning to go the same route, or are we reading too much in the teasers?
Starring Hania Amir and Farhan Saeed as leads, Mere Humsafar is the new drama on the block that is all set to air on 30th December on ARY Digital. The drama will also star Zoya Nasir, Omer Shahzad, Saba Hamid, Angeline Malik, and the recently concluded Neeli Zinda Hai. The drama is directed by Qasim Ali Mureed who has also directed Prem Gali, Aangan, and the movie Tich button. Mere HumSafar is written by Saira Raza who has also written several other dramas including Mohabbat Dagh Ki Soorat, Ghamand, and Dil Mom Ka Diya.

As per the teasers, the story seems to be based on domestic issues and is a love story. The couple is likely to face many obstacles to make their relationship work, mostly from the son’s mother played by Saba Hamid. In one of the teasers, we can see Saba Hamid trying to burn herself. It appears from the surface that the drama is mostly going to revolve around domestic politics. From the teaser, we can presume that Hania will be a poor girl in distress who will be ‘rescued’ by Farhan’s character, and together they will be bonded in the relationship of marriage.
Despite our conflict with the storyline, Farhan and Hania are absolutely stealing the show. Although readers are bite-sized versions of what’s in store, Hania & Farhan are lighting up the screen with their chemistry and we look forward to seeing them share the screen together.
Watch one of the teasers here:
We previously saw Farhan Saeed in the drama Prem Gali and Hania Amir was last seen on television in the drama Dil Ruba. This is the first time Farhan and Hania will be sharing the screen together and we look forward to seeing their on-screen chemistry which we have seen glimpses of in Asim Jofa’s music video Piyaar Sufiyana.
Is there more to Hania Amir’s character than meets the eye? Will she take a stand for herself or is she just putting on an act of a distressed and voiceless bahu. Well, to see whether our assumptions are on the mark or not, we would have to tune in to the first episode.
