Pari Zaad, the new drama serial of HUM TV Productions, ignited a lot of interest and anticipation after its teasers were released this weekend. Written by Hashim Nadeem who is also the writer of Ishq Zahe Naseeb and Raqs-e-Bismil, and of course, Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3 currently on air – Pari Zaad seems to have a captivating storyline. As can be seen from Hashim Nadeem’s previous dramas, we can look forward to an unconventional storyline with characters full of substance!

The drama has a star cast that includes Saboor Aly, Ushna Shah, Urwa Hocane and Ahmed Ali Akbar. It’s hard to predict the plot based on the promos but we’re guessing it will be the story of four individuals with their own struggles and hardships. We’re assuming that it will most probably turn into a love triangle, but only time will tell!
The story is adapted form Hashim Nadeem’s novel Pari Zaad. Not much has been revealed in the form of BTS hence, we await more information from the sets of the drama.
However, we must say that we love how Ahmed Ali Akbar (previously seen on Ehd e Wafa) and of course, on the big screen in Laal Kabootar, has transformed his look for this role! He’s definitely pulling off a muted, shy guy role who loves poetry – tad unconventional for the lead character, but probably, that is the pull of the narrative. Meanwhile, Ushna Shah is most probably his love interest. Ushna (presently killing it in Aakhir Kab Tak as Noor), is injecting a playfulness and spark to the screen, if we go by the teaser, in stark contrast to Ahmed Ali’s subtle feels. We are excited to see what her character holds for the story.
On the other hand, we see Saboor Aly in a completely new avatar! Her character is that of a blunt, no-frills girl who is not afraid to challenge traditions and the customs in society. She has no interest in marriage and wants to set a new path for herself. All her sequences looked promising, especially the boxing!
The teaser has us as Saboor challenges the punching bag with some gutsy moves. Again, it’s great to see story telling move towards new and refreshing ground, especially where traditionally feminine roles are pitched onscreen!
Saboor is currently seen on Mujhe Vida Kar – the drama that’s challenging our preset notions of extreme feminine oppression with toxic inlaws. Hoping Pari Zaad has an entirely different narrative!

The drama will be directed by Humsafar and Sabaat director Shahzad Kashmiri. The frame emits earthy tones, a sober kind of ambience and promises an intense watch!

Though we know very little as of now, to say anything definite about the drama, what we do know is to expect good direction, amazing chemistry between the actors and brilliant acting. All three actors are extremely talented and we look forward to what they have to bring to the table!
