Some stories (like Fairy Tale 2) take audiences on a wave of emotions, starting off with a bang, then meandering into a web of complex challenges that both viewers and characters swim through together.

In the course of this journey, and along several successive episodes, often, the stories might falter, slow down, or miss the vibe they started off with. But then, along comes an episode that hits viewers with the same emotions that moved them when the drama was hitting high notes… and the latest Fairy Tale 2 episodes managed to do just that.

Bear with us as we climb out of the rhetoric (after all, a season 2 with double episodes every week deserves a not more than your average drama, right?) and give you 5 reasons why the latest Fairy Tale 2 simply nailed it.

And, without any further ado. Let’s do the honours!

1. Aago Jaan Finally Gets The Attention She Needed

Der aaye magar durust aaye. Thank Goodness! Aago Jan’s nightly rendezvous with Jalal Pasha finally caught the attention of Farjad who, along with Umeed, took her to a therapist.

The resultant diagnosis and moving depiction of how the elderly in our families need to feel needed, loved, cared for, and not neglected was a much-needed message. Not just that, but how Umeed’s marriage and subsequent moving away from Aago Jan had affected her mental wellbeing was a great way to show how the elderly in our homes might be very sensitive and often, we dismiss their behavioral changes as old age.

Ago Jaan missed Umeed’s presence in her life desperately and hence, her condition. Fairytale 2 made that leap from plain romantic comedy to meaningful romcom and we’re taking notes!

2. Respecting Your Wife’s Commitment To Her Work.

While Farjad wants to take the day off and be with his wife, she has to step out for work. And it’s great to see that Umeed doesn’t need to “manage” his moods or feel guilty in the bargain. Couples must respect each other’s professions and not resort to emotional blackmailing, especially when the wife feels committed. Well done, Farjad, you win points here and we hope young couples can take a page out of his book too!

3. Young Girls Contributing Financially Towards Their Household

When Umeed handed that cheque to Pasha Saab, she met with a reaction many of us meet with – a sense of guilt, self-respect from the elders and parents who will refuse to accept financial help from their daughters.

But the way Pasha Saab then came around to Umeed’s POV and accepted the offer is another message to not only young girls, but their parents – if you’ve brought up your daughters to be independent, do let them take initiative and help out as and how they want to… it is their right to contribute in the household and towards their wedding expenses, just as it is their right to receive a quality education through their parent’s resources.

Shifting perspectives, one drama at a time is a great way to change mindsets and we feel Umeed’s effort will create a ripple effect well after the drama is over

4. Farjaad & His Family Not Laying First Claim To Umeed’s Earnings

So even if a young, married girl wants to help out her family, she is often met by resistance from her in-laws or her husband. It could be argued that Umeed’s in-laws are reasonably well off and don’t need her earnings. But actually, it’s all in the message and mindset. Umeed’s independent claim to her cafe earnings and how she wants to spend them is just how young girls should operate in order to be fully empowered in their life decisions.

One often sees independent, working girls who are often dependent on their in-laws or husband to take minor decisions in life. But not our Umeed. Needless to say, we’re quite sure she would have spent on her own home too if there was a need. It’s all about good intentions and where they’re needed most. And lastly, just in case you missed it, and wondering what our last point would be…

5. Offering Gainful Employment To Family

When a family member kick-starts a business and it is running well, it’s a great idea to help those within your family who might need gainful employment and employ their talents wisely. Umeed offering her Chacha a job was such a heartwarming move. We loved how she helped others while helping herself too. We often shy away from offering a family member or friend employment because we fear how it will turn out in the long run.

But not our Umeed. She just managed to kill two birds with one stone and sourced her inhouse chef from within the family. What a great move to add to our family business goals – do take note! And that’s it folks. By the way, if you’re wondering why we haven’t mentioned the cute romance thing going on between Farjad and Umeed, oh well, that’s didn’t miss us. It is, no doubt because of the mutual trust and love they both share that Umeed and Farjad could be the power couple they have become and finally managed to achieve the super goals we mentioned above!

Tell us what you loved most about the episodes and what we missed, if you could, and add a 6th point in comments!
