Anas played by Farhan Saeed lives with his uncle (taya’s) family and attends college as well as tending to the housework and his ailing grandfather. He receives step-brotherly treatment from his aunt and two cousins. His uncle is also pressured into treating him poorly. It is only his grandfather played by salman Shahid who feels for him in the family, bu the is too frail to have much influence in the family. His paternal aunt, phoppo, Ambreen, lives abroad and pays for his college tuition. She seems to be a positive presence in the family but lives too far away to hold much influence. Anas’ parents are no more.
Ansa essayed by Sana Javed studies in the same college as Anas and both of them are high achievers, yet ignorant of each other’s household circumstances. Ansa thinks that Anas is relatively well-to-do while she herself also struggles with financial and family issues – living with her brother’s family who refuses to pay her college tuition and also her part in the family property income.
Anas’ cousins, Shereen and Shayan have grown up bullying him, their mother Shazia is also a toxic presence in teh household, so much so that Anas suffers from low self esteem and rarely stands up for himself. As opposed to this, Ansa, despite all her problems and a toxic sister in-law (bhabi) is outspoken and manages to speak up and stand up for her rights whenever possible.

Shayan, played by Haris Waheed, the spoilt cousin has met with an accident and although he escaped unhurt, the family of the person he hit is demanding arrest of the culprit. Shayan’s dad has convinced Anas to take th fall and step in in place of Shayan. Anas, under pressure, agreed to confess to the police that it was him who was driving the car. Anas’ college friends, especially Ansa knows this to be untrue as he wa with them in college when the accident occurred.
Hence the students, driven by Ansa at the forefront, are demanding justice for Anas and immediate release from police custody.
The story, though seemingly a seen-before tale with the poor cousin receiving step-son treatment from his family, boasts notable performances from Farhan saeed, Farhan Tahir, Sana Javed, Zoya Nasir, Salman Shahid and Haris Waheed. We expect the story to take a deep dive into the relationship dynamics between Anas and Ansa as both of them battle similar situations at home but how they treat they family and their perspectives on life are starkly different. How these two navigate these differences and how Ansa, the stronger of the two, helps Anas stand up for himself against his family members is what drives the narrative.
