Vax Live is a concert which is organized by anti-poverty group, Global Citizen (an organization which aims to increase access to vaccines) and hosted by the world-famous singer, Selena Gomez. The concert aims to donate to Covax, which is working to provide vaccines for low and middle-income countries and also to put pressure on world leaders of the developed world to help ensure a more equitable distribution of

Who’s performing?
Vax Live also commonly called as the concert to reunite the world featuring performances by Jennifer Lopez, Eddie Vedder, Foo Fighters, J Balvin, and H.E.R.. Furthermore, we will also be seeing David Letterman, Chrissy Teigen in addition to appearances from Ben Affleck, Gayle King, Jimmy Kimmel, Nomzamo Mbatha.
Special Appearances
Fans cannot contain their excitement after organizers dropped the star-studded list of of the celebs who’ll be dropping in – Joe Biden, along with the US first lady, Jill Biden, and the vice-president, Kamala Harris, will make special appearances through Global Citizen’s partnership. Moreover, we will also be seeing the French president, Emmanuel Macron, the Canadian prime minister, Justin Trudeau, (and I am certain by hearing this your heart would have already skipped a beat!) and the Croatian prime minister, Andrej Plenković. Presence of the world leaders certainly makes the event more meaningful.
Andddd adding to all that excitement, Harry and Meghan are ‘campaign chairs’ of this event. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to see Meghan at the concert on 2 May as she is pregnant with her second child. But Prince Harry was in attendance along with the other guests.

What’s the purpose?
Global Citizen, partners to vax Live concert on Sunday surpassed the campaign goal of securing 10 million COVID-19 vaccine doses to help the world’s most marginalized communities and health care workers access the vaccine.
How will it help a country like Pakistan?
The COVID-19 pandemic cannot end until all countries have access to lifesaving vaccine doses. Initiatives like COVAX can ensure COVID-19 vaccines reach every person that needs them, but not without support from government leaders, corporations, philanthropists, and Global Citizens everywhere demanding vaccine equity. How many people will be in attendance?
The event was pre-recorded a week in advance at SoFi Stadium, Los Angeles. Everyone in the audience was fully vaccinated, and media and production staff needed to show a negative COVID-19 test before entering the stadium.
It is not known how many people will stream the concert but it support is growing as we speak. Do tune in for a worthy cause as the event is part of a growing movement seeking wider, more equitable distribution of COVID-19 vaccines.
